Discourage to Encourage? I Don't Think So! - Comments

I definitely agree with you on everything, plus I'm not a mean person. I remember my first couple of stories that I wrote were very cliche and shitty. I would get mean/nasty/rude comments and I would take them too, but I don't have the heart to give those rude "criticizing" comments to others. This site was made for those who love to write and share their work not get hurt by other people's horrible words.

Constructive criticism isn't about quantity, it's about phrasing. If I find 20 things I think do not work in a story, I'll point them all out, and if I find 2, I'll point those out. That's how any creative writing class in the real world works; that's how any editor or publisher works.

In the writing world, sometimes there isn't a lot of positive feedback to give, especially since so many writers on Mibba post their first drafts like they're finished products.

I agree! I honestly think that the more you write, the better you get. Even if no one points out the things you're doing wrong, I still think that you will be able to figure out for yourself what works and doesn't work the more you read and write. It's just a learning process and picking at people isn't going to make it go any faster!
