Aww! I'm so sorry this happened! You and I have talked about this job a lot (in case you don't realize who I am, my old username was Matt Sanders. I just changed it earlier today.)
I feel horrible that they screwed you over like this. You expressed to me how much you enjoyed your job, and I even envied the fact that you had such an amazing job like that. There's no excuse for them treating you this way, especially since you've been with them since the beginning.
I know this won't mean much now, but everything will be okay. Having that on your resume will for sure take you a long way; whether it be to continue with your career in teaching, or something totally different. The fact that you have experience with people, children in particular, is great. It hurts now, I know, but you'll be okay once you sort everything out. Take your time, gather yourself, and come back strong. :)
