I can't even begin to express how thrilled I am that you posted this! My mom is a teacher, so I know the type of bull she deals with, like this for example! You are awesome for posting this.

AGREE AGREE CAN WE PASS A LAW THAT SAYS THAT EVERYONE HAS TO AGREE WITH THIS???

I have this teacher, okay. He was my AP teacher last year. He's kind of funny in a dark sarcastic way and he's a little monotonous and he always keeps a straight face unless he's laughing. It's a habit he picked up from working in a juvenile hall.

He's my advisor for Creative Writing Club and I honestly think he's a great teacher and I love him to pieces in a teacher-student sort of way, but everytime I bring him up people are like UGH HIM NO ONE LIKES HIM I HATE HIM HE'S SUCH A BAD TEACHER

No he's honestly not. For it being his first year of AP, he did a pretty great job of teaching us. It's not like he floods us with homework like our current AP Lit teacher, and he tried to make things interesting! He was never rude and everyone thought he was funny last year, so I don't understand what the problem is this year.

I never understand why people hate teachers, especially the nice ones. I can understand why if the teacher is legitimately a bitch but I've only met two teachers who were literally bitches and even then they were just trying to deal with their jobs.

Like, what do you expect, teachers technically aren't even supposed to accept latework and allow you out of class and let you be late without an excuse. Grow up and realize they're not there for you, they're there to help the ones who want to learn because teaching is something they love.

I can't even interpret how much I agree with this. I know so many students that are like that and can't bring up a single ounce of respect for their teachers, and not even our vice principals. Considering that I've started freshman year, the students think they can get by stealthily from their classes in this huge ass school, but when they do decide to show up to class and the teacher informs them for not doing an assignment, they decide to put the blame on the teacher.

    What. The. Hell.

If that's what you described college to be like, I honestly can't wait until then.

Yep. She talks about how scouts come to the games and blahblahblah and she's going to go to the Olympics and asdkfashkdf. It takes so much for me not to roll my eyes.

It's alright, I would definitely want to know / observe how she ends up in the future too.
& wow, she plans on having a scholarship? Well.
I know someone who has a scholarship and they're really one of the most respectful, reputable people I've ever met.
They're taking seven classes this semester just to keep that scholarship. I wonder how she'll survive. . .

I honestly can't wait for her to get eaten alive, as mean as it sounds. I know where I'm going and what I have to do to get there and that's act like I have some fucking sense and respect. She thinks she'll get a volleyball scholarship and schools will be begging her to go there. I've got news for her, she can lose a scholarship as fast as she earns it.

College will definitely give her a wake up call. I mean, I live in what is considered as not quite a town but not a city.
So I learned early on that acting how Lisa does is not going to get me anywhere. I went to a strict private school.
Now I'm in college and some people are, sad to say, still in that "high school mentality." Professors are going to skin her alive.

Yes, exactly. That's how my teachers are. It's a small school - there's only 58 kids in my graduating class and I have a "big" graduating class for my school. All of my teachers are so helpful and kind and compassionate, even to those who don't deserve it. I truly admire these people. Teachers are my heroes.

    @ kitsch

She will. She wants to go to Florida and I know for a fact people in Florida will give her a reality check. People in the real world, especially outside of our little po-dunk town, don't put up with shit like that.

I sincerely hope she gets a reality check, point blank ahem slap in the face,
from your Spanish teacher or someone who won't put up with that crap.

Won't take much since nobody likes dealing with arrogant self-entitled snobs.

Oh god. I am having flashbacks of the people who remind me of Lisa. Yeaaaah. Evil or Very Mad

@ i am rock and roll.

I totally agree. And, at least at the school that I go to, teachers donate so much of their time. Even after their hours are done. They have to give so much of their free time at home, when they should be relaxing, preparing for the day and grading papers and just taking care of the kids that they are teaching.

They really shouldn't have to put up with all of this. There are not enough good, polite students in the world to balance out all of the disrespectful kids there are out there.

That's basically what I told her. She thinks she's going to go to college and get by with laying out of class. Oh, she'll get by with it from her professors, but she'll fail and then have to pay god knows how much money to retake the class. Professors, from what I've heard, really don't give a rat's ass if you come to class. It doesn't make a difference to them if you fail, it's not hurting them any.

I think a teacher's salary should be one of the highest because they get treated like shit half of the time. It disgusts me.

...Wow. That comment about what she's doing with her life as an English teacher? Has this girl stopped to think that maybe as an English teacher, what she's doing with her life is preparing hundreds of students for their futures, providing guidance and education without which they wouldn't stand a snowball's chance in hell? Wow.

This girl is going to have a really hard time in the real world if she maintains an attitude that everyone else needs to revolve around her and that her actions are always justified.

    That's horrible. Absolutely horrible.

And the fact that she acts like your teacher doesn't do any good for society. Being a teacher is one of the most respectable things you can do. Teachers give valuable information to young pupils. Teachers are the people who give us a start in life. Teachers inspire and drive their students. The world would be nowhere without students.

And the fact that teachers get treated so bad completely irks me. They are not given the credit that they deserve. It's really not fair. They don't get paid enough to deal with people who don't take them seriously and disrespect them. And they really shouldn't have to put up with it.

She's a very arrogant person. She's the best on our school's volleyball team and she knows it. She thinks that means she's entitled to do anything she wants, basically. She told our Spanish teacher when he told her she was rude for skipping his class that she didn't have to come to his class because she was fluent in Spanish.
... I thought my SeƱor would slap her, honestly.

Well shit. I really, really dislike it when people believe they are entitlted to things.
ESPECIALLY when they're talking about this type of stuff. Wow.
& when the English teacher is actually great? Shove it, Lisa.
