@Bella- I agree. I don't feel the need to drink every day or anything like that. I enjoy drinking here and there. I dont drink by myself though. So thats a plus too. I mean my sister bought me a a big bottle of coconut rum for my birthday in April, I'm now just a half a bottle.

@Whomping willow- This was the first year ever I went to her parties on the weekends. Before I hardly did drink it would just be on July 4 or New Years. I see no problem getting drinks on the weekends or something like that, you know?

@cotton- I know, right? Thats my wonderful parents for you. But I do give my mom credit though, when I was home hungover she didn't yell at me or anything. Which was a surprise.

You definitely aren't an alcoholic. Your Mom was foolish to think that, just because you got drunk. Many people get drunk, and aren't alcoholics. An alcoholic allows alcohol to affect their life in the worst way possible.

My parents go out drinking every weekend, but they still aren't alcoholics. Alcoholics are addicted to it, and from what it sounds like, you are most certainly not.

I think you become an alcoholic when you feel like you need to drink. Not when you just enjoy drinking. But if you (universal, of course) can't go out without feeling like you need and have to drink to have fun or go out then you're on a dangerous path.
