I'm sorry to hear that you do need the surgery, but I'm glad that you won't have to stay in the hospital very long! Hopefully, you're recovery time will be much easier as well. I also love hearing that you're inspired to write more and that you're going to be writing more seriously in the future. I can't wait to see what you come up with!
