I totally agree with you! I don't celebrate Christmas (my family is Jewish and therefore celebrates Hanukkah), but I am still affected by all these things. All my friends celebrate Christmas and whatnot. Not only does it overshadow Thanksgiving, but Hanukkah as well. You know how hard it is to find a menorah these days? One of the reasons I adore Hanukkah is that there is still a religious connection to it. It isn't commercialized and annoying. It's a celebration of light and of miracles. I'm perfectly happy hanging out with my parents for eight nights with or without the small gifts.
