People amaze me sometimes. - Comments

I didn't say he couldn't have his opinion. I just think that asking for it to not be aired is a little much. If someone doesn't like it, they don't have to watch it. No one is saying you must change your channel to MTV and watch it. Once it airs, if people feel it should be taken off-air, they can do a petition or something. It's not fair to say it shouldn't be aired at all when no one's seen it yet. Let the ratings do the talking.

  • Personally, I believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion. And I feel that all the Sen. Joe is doing is what he feels is right by the people of West Virginia.

Definitely agree. I just think people need to have sense enough to know that not everyone from one region or group or religion or what have you is the same. I've grown in up in a very country, redneck family. I'm like them in some ways. But at the same time, I'm not your stereotypical one and I do have other goals and try hard in school. There's just so many people who get this idea in their heads that one group is all the same, when that group just has some things in common.

  • I think the problem is that shows like that create these horrible ideas of how all youth are, and even though not all youth do the exact same thing and act the exact same way, the opinion has already been created. Police officers automatically do not trust in anything youth will say or do. They automatically assume all youth are horrible, dense creatures. Maybe it's not just these shows, but I know that I am nothing like any of the youth depicted in any of these shows, and I am still treated like garbage by police officers when I try to help them. Sure they deal with horrible youth all day every day, and it saves them a lot of time and energy to assume all youth are bad, but in the end it turns youth against police, which is a very, very stupid thing to do.
