My Novel + Frustrations + My Dream - Comments

I have the same dream to get a book published, I'm even doing a Creative Writing degree at university.
And I'm starting a novel next year but I'm going the style of Tolkien and creating my own world, which is going to take a while.
But a 1D fic becoming a published it's just...that's the same route of 50 Shades of Grey, a fan-fiction being published as an original fiction.

writing a good novel takes time. this one author i know used seven years to finish his before it was published. it is incredibly frustrating to see all the bad books that are being published, but i'm afraid it's just something we are going to have to live with. the best thing we can do is try and write something better.

I'm always insanely jealous of anyone that's sat down and finished writing an entire novel, no matter their age, the plot, or how good they thought it was. I wish I could do that. I have an idea for something I believe would be good, but absolutely no motivation.
