I disagree strongly about using the words vagina and penis in sex scenes. They aren't sexy. Unfortunately, I don't think there are ANY sex names for the vagina. Fortunately, I write slash.
I actually nearly ALWAYS had my characters leave their socks on for sex. It was a conscious decision. I always pictured them with their socks on.
I feel it. i don't read romances and every now and then i'll run into a sex scene, but they always suck. I'm not a fan of sex scenes so in my stories i just let the reader's mind fill in the blanks. but if i did write one, it wouldn't be a sex scene it be porn.
Oh okay, I see what you're saying now. That makes sense lol.

This entire thing is so perfect it hurts. There's nothing I hate more than reading a fic and the sex is just awkward and not well written in the least because it sorta ruins the story for me.
I do agree with, well pretty much all of it. I've read a story where the sex was incredibly awkward, even as a YOUNG writer [like 9-10] I was writing out sex scenes and it wasn't awkward. So I definitely appreciate you writing this.
@ladyschrei I think I worded that wrong. I mean if you're uncomfortable with it, I think you should attempt to write it and ask for like criticism. I mean you obviously have to practice writing sex scenes, so even if you are uncomfortable, you should still write. I hope that makes sense. I'm not trying to discourage anyone or anything.
Also, when the sex scene just isn't realistic. People will write two characters having sex for the first time and it's perfect and the most incredible experience of their life. Guess what? It's not in real life. Wish it was, but it's not.
personally, i wouldn't like to read anything where they called the penis a 'member.' lol. it makes me think of my grandmother. like when we were kids. if someone said dick or cock on tv. she would be like, "we don't say that. those are bad words for a man's member."
