I think most people on Mibba are respectful, but I have seen people come into the abortion thread, for example, spouting off non-facts and saying we were all going to hell. A lot of people aren't going to take that well.

I've been a regular member of the debate threads for years and, generally speaking, most people there want to debate, so they don't want to scare off new blood. However, they do want to debate with them, especially if they have a viewpoint different than the majority.

That's a possibility, yeah. I never really thought of it like that. It'd just be nice if people could be a bit more respectful towards each other, even if it's debating. I think kindness is the best way to win, there's just too much hate in this world.

Discussion threads are very much like debate threads. The point of debating is to win. At least, that's what debate teams and people in debate competitions think.

I think a large part of it when people confuse fighting with debating.

Feel lucky you haven't seen it, then. I don't get upset when people respond to my posts-after all, it's a discussion thread and it's not much of a discussion if nobody responds to each other- but I do feel a bit offended when they respond and they're talking down to me. I mean, if I see an opinion I don't like I just roll my eyes and move on; I don't really feel the need to go out of my way to "prove them wrong". I know I'm not everyone else but I don't understand the concept of fighting. I'm a hippie, I just want everyone to love each other. Maybe the peace pipes should make a comeback.

I just don't see a whole lot of people jumping people in the discussion threads, though I do see a lot of people posting their opinion and getting upset when people respond to it.

-A story summary mentions something along the lines of "they will face things in life they never expected to face" or something similar.
-There are five consecutive free-verse poems in one page.
-A story has a cover page with someone's face/people on it.
-A story summary has an author's note at the bottom.

When the name of the OC of every single one of a users stories is the name of the user when you go onto their profile...

Well excuse me; I thought people were supposed to be nice to each other on mibba instead of treating them like inferior beings. Or is it just me, because I AM an inferior being and therefore not entitled to at least have my opinions/myself respected instead of shit on? and it's not even just politics, it's everyone. Mibbians never used to be cyberbullies.

4. When you see an All Time Low fanfiction
5. When you see an A7X fanfiction
6. When you see a story that's pretty much 50 Shades of Grey Rebooted.
7.When the girlfriend in a fanfiction is described the same way the girl who wrote it would describe herself
8. When fangirls actually put themselves in the fanfictions and are THE ONE for whoever they're writing about.
9. When a My Chemical Romance fanfiction involves self mutilation/suicide
10. When you see a Jalex fanfiction

3. ...there are three or more One Direction stories on the main story page.
5. ...no layout whatsoever.
^I see this too much!

6. ...a story is named after a song.
7. ...a story isn't updated for a year or more.
^I'm sometimes guilty of this.

8. ...a story's paragraphs are all smushed together.
9. ...you read the phrase (or a variation of) "Not good at descriptions, just read it!"
10. ...a teenage character gets pregnant.
11. ...unreadable layout and/or neon writing on a black background.
12. ...unnecessarily long snippet of song lyrics.
^Seen these way too many times.

Now here're a few of my own.

1. When someone has a two main characters or all characters in general fighting over their OC.
2. Someone's OC is almost always sad and never seems to catch a lucky break (or the reverse).
3. An OC is going around, sleeping with all the members of their favorite band.
4. An OC is the daughter/son of a member of the author's favorite band and the OC sleeps with the said member.
5. One Direction fanfics with the boys abusing their significant others.
6. OC getting pregnant by the author's favorite character.
7. Larry slash.
8. One Direction Slash in general.
9. Someone makes Gerard Way or any other member of MCR listen to an Ipod rather when writing the band in a high school setting when in fact, Ipods were possibly just an idea in the 90's/80's.
10. Werewolf and Vampire Bandfiction.
11. BDSM bandfiction
12. Gerard Way having sex with his daughter, Bandit.
