Also important to know:
if someone tells someone else to kill themselves, whether online or in real life, it is actually a criminal offence (I think it's 'incite to suicide', I can't remember all the legal jargon) and in extreme cases, if the person actually does commit suicide and it can be proven that the person telling them to do it was a main cause of it then that person can actually be charged with manslaughter and face serious jail time.
So if you do it, not only are you a major dickbag (to put it mildly) you're also technically a criminal. Personally I don't think there's any reason to ever tell someone to kill themselves, whether they have actually done something bad to you or not. I feel like if you really hate someone to the point of wishing to end their lives, then that means something is seriously wrong and probably deserves more attention than just a few angry words being exchanged. Besides, thinking it and saying it are two different things. But yes, I agree, there is no excuse, particularly not online, and particularly not hiding yourself behind anonymity. It's pretty sick.
My two cents :)
