    Also important to know:

if someone tells someone else to kill themselves, whether online or in real life, it is actually a criminal offence (I think it's 'incite to suicide', I can't remember all the legal jargon) and in extreme cases, if the person actually does commit suicide and it can be proven that the person telling them to do it was a main cause of it then that person can actually be charged with manslaughter and face serious jail time.

So if you do it, not only are you a major dickbag (to put it mildly) you're also technically a criminal. Personally I don't think there's any reason to ever tell someone to kill themselves, whether they have actually done something bad to you or not. I feel like if you really hate someone to the point of wishing to end their lives, then that means something is seriously wrong and probably deserves more attention than just a few angry words being exchanged. Besides, thinking it and saying it are two different things. But yes, I agree, there is no excuse, particularly not online, and particularly not hiding yourself behind anonymity. It's pretty sick.

    My two cents :)

@ AHLICE That blog was mostly directed at the online community and these idiots who say that to someone else over some petty arguments or the content of their story or just because they feel like being a dick.

If you have been raped, assaulted, or anything of the like its only natural to wish awful things upon the person who did it. I never even addressed that section of the issue in what I said. Again, the blog was mostly referring to the assholes that sit there and tell people that from behind their computer screen due to something petty or something they don't like because they don't know or care about the weight those words carry or the effect they can have.

I don't recall ever witnessing anyone say that to someone else in real life, but thats just my experience. I mean, it just seems that the only time I've seen that said to anyone is on line where they don't have to own up to what they say. I just thought I would clarify that.

i'm sorry, but I've had racist bigots assault me, my family, threaten people, rape people, and even attempt to kill people and I must say that I do wish death on those kinds of people. Does it make me a bad person? Not in my opinion, to be honest, because those type of people are past sickening; they're insecure, shitty, psychopathic idiots that no amount of "teaching" can change. Their thoughts will follow them, thus being taught to their children. I will not and cannot deal with somebody like that. (of course I won't kill them;I just wish for their death rofl)

I sound like a dick right now.

I agree that "go kill yourself" is a horrible thing to say and shouldn't be said to anyone; but I have to disagree about choices. Yes you're a terrible person for choosing to tell someone, anyone, to go kill themselves, but when people commit suicide that is their own choice as well, despite whatever anyone has said to them. We all make our own choices. I don't condone bullying or cruelty, but taking your own life is still your decision. I get that bullies, whether they be physical or cyber bullies, can push a person into depression but there is just as much reason or justification for suicide as there is for bullying: none whatsoever. Bullying is senseless, nasty, and heartless. But it's just as much a personal choice as suicide; and they're both completely tragic and unnecessary.

I completely agree. I sadly know people that have both said things like that and have done so because of someone saying it and it pisses me off that anyone would say that. The ones who have said it can in fact go fuck themselves.
