I haven't read her series yet but it's completely cool you met her!
There's an author named Simone Elkeles, I totally suggest you look her up. Basically, she became friends with one of the permanent substitute teachers at my school and two students that graduated, and she came and did this awesome presentation and let us ask her questions and talked about her books and publishing and all that, she was so down-to-earth and amazing. Plus she gave us all discount prices on her hardcover books and signed them for us. I have two autographed books by her.
