My first story ever was about an evil girl who found a genie in a bottle and imprisoned the little magical being for the rest of her life. I was eleven. *facepalm* There are things in our writing history that should never ever see the light of day again, haha

I remember going through stuff in my closet and I found stories I wrote in 7th-8th grade. Oh god. lmfao I threw them back into the depths of my closet because I couldn't keep reading. Don't get me wrong, I was good for my age. But now that I've developed as a writer, I am ashamed to have written that, for a lack of a better word, shit. lmfao

Like I said: enablers. Haha. You just have to wonder why everyone was so impressed.

I feel like people who use Quizilla just have lower standards than most? Lol. And then people just migrate here once their styles have developed. Like, anything and everything goes on that site. Mary Sues running rampant.

lmao I feel you completely. My first story was a twilight fanfic on quizilla in which the protagonist was a whiney teenage cutter (for angsty dramatic effect, she had no real problems) and Carlisle, Jasper, Emmett, and Edward were all in love with her. I explained that by inventing what was basically imprinting for vampires.... And oh boy did I think it was the shit. Other people did too for some reason, not sure why.... hahaha Good times.

I remember in sixth grade I thought my stories were absolutely amazing. My friends loved them and my teachers told me I was one of the best writers in the class.

I decided to look back at them a few days ago. Oh my God. It was terrible. I had almost no descriptions - almost everything was dialogue. And... Oh my God I just can't explain how bad it was. I understand it's because sixth grade level writing is a lot different from sophomore level writing but still. All I could think was, "And people actually thought this was good?"
