My family does that to a lot of the things I like, especially if it's foreign like anime or kpop. I just don't understand what harm it's doing.

The whole "Why does anyone like X?" argument really annoys me, because my brother says that about pretty much all the things I like. I'm just like, "Dude, why won't you just let me like this?"

Exactly! I don't understand why people are so critical of what makes other people happy, as long as they aren't harming anyone else. Sheesh. Yeah, I don't like whenever anyone makes fun of someone's personal tastes. I mean, it kind of says it right there "personal".

lol I totally feel you on this. I'm still sticking by that if someone doesn't like something that other people do or like, they should just keep their trap shut and keep it to themselves. I mean me personally, I'm not into K pop and One Direction, yet I don't go posting shit talk on anyone's blogs or stories about them. I don't feel disgust against these people who like said things. In a way, from their point of view, I can see why they like said artists.

Even though I don't personally, doesn't mean I can't sympathize and understand why they might enjoy them. I certainly won't sit here and poke fun at someone for their personal tastes. Sigh...people need to stop being so critical of other people's opinions and just fucking enjoy life. Whatever happened to that lol?

It makes sense to me because a lot of people are looked down upon for having different tastes in stuff that's outside the norm (like let's say an Asian girl didn't like rice and her Asian friends thought it was weird and just decided she was a freak?) <- A bad example, but it's the only thing I can come up with.
