Exactly, they're still the same even though the sound has changed. It's like the core feeling never leaves, I'm seriously just proud of how they've done that because a lot of bands haven't been able to. They really are phenomenal.
@ like_taking_diamonds Yeah, their evolution with every album too is phenomenal. You listen to it and it's still the same Fall Out Boy, but they always find a way to give their fans fresh material. I have faith that you can do that too! All it takes is dedication and setting your heart to it.
That's the best part of this come-back. It's about them doing what they love and it just reads through the songs! Pete is probably the one lyricist that truly inspires me to even attempt writing songs, I can remember just listening to all their albums from the time Under the Cork Tree came out and just letting them go on repeat for hours and thinking, "That's what I want to do." There's nothing quite like it and I just love those boys.
@ heatherlight I'm so sorry to hear that. I feel so bad for all the fans of MCR, I can't imagine how you guys feel. But music is probably the most powerful thing to be able to carry with you.@ like_taking_diamonds They really are! I'm so happy that they're doing this music for THEM. You can totally tell that they're much happier than they were before their hiatus, and that in itself makes me happy. That's really neat you want to be a musician! Pete inspired me to write in general, although I wish I could write SONGS. Such a different ballgame.
Fall Out Boy is like my reason to be. They're so influential and I'm just beyond happy to see them release a new album and I honestly just don't have words to describe, but I think you covered everything I would have said in this blog. I wouldn't say they saved my life, but they are a big reason for why I want to be a musician. I just can't wait for the album to come out!
I understand you :) Unfortunately, MCR broke up definitely and they won't do another goodbye show. Never met them, never went to a concert, and never will. But it's enough, you know. For now, I have their songs, and the memories of them, and that is somethin that will forever soothe me.
I'm also a fan of Fall Out Boy and their new CD is rad.
@ TheMommyDiaries I agree! It comes out like, two days before my birthday so as cheesy as this sounds- it's the best gift I could ask for!@ leviathan. I rarely ever find an album I can listen to all the way through, but FOB is always the exception to that rule for me. I agree completely! I think track three is "Alone With You"? I can't remember. But I'm obsessed with "The Phoenix" and "Young Volcanoes" for sure. I have too many emotions over this new album already!
I'm the same! I listened to Save Rock and Roll today, and after having it on repeat for over three hours... I felt a connection with every one of those songs. I didn't really like Young Volcanoes before, but now I appreciate so so much more after more than one listen.
My favorite track would have to be number three (because I don't remember the song title).
