Yeah it always kinda of stings to take constructive criticism but then I'm glad it happened because I take the advice and my writing continues to improve

I do agree, not everyone is. I'm talking about the ones who are just here for that reason but can't take them when they ask. Not about people who write for fun. Some stories on here I've ran across that was just written for fun and they've asked for no feedback and are happy enough to continue on writing, which is the way fun writing is supposed to be. Writing is supposed to be fun but there are a few people who think they are gods and goddesses of writing and if one doesn't agree then they 'retaliate', I write for fun, I've always loved it - wether it was read or not. My first novel story was a Hanson fan fiction, back then it was done out of fun. So I know where you're coming from. I was just addressing just the ones that were here for their egos - others who are just here to write and don't care wasn't the general direction I meant to get at. In general it's fun but sometimes it is ruined because certain people ask for it then can't handle the criticism well because it wasn't a perfect 10 and they want every review to be 'this was amazing' but on a site like this it is nearly impossible because everyone is different. I've gotten a ton of my writings torn to shreds, which I take with a pinch of salt and relate to where they are coming from, change what would make it flow better.

I've seen quite a few people sort of "freak out" about this many times before. The main thing, I think, to realise is that not everyone on here is writing to get con crit/feedback on their work. A lot of users on here are just starting out and are only here to read and share stories about that cute guy in that trending band. It's just fun. If someone posts a comment with things to improve, yeah, they can take it the wrong way. There's nothing wrong with just writing for fun, for themselves, and not wanting any sort of feedback so they can improve. That's how a lot of people start out writing when they're at the younger end of the scale, and as they age and start writing about new topics they'll be wanting that con crit to improve.

    * I'm not saying this is the case for every single user on here, or every user who doesn't handle receiving con crit well, but it does pay to be a bit considerate and just let it go sometimes.

Thanks, but I'm actually better at writing and reading than speaking, haha. But it would be cool to learn more words. I got the Spanish grammar down and everything, it's just remember the words and etc.

I full on agree with this. I hate when people say my stories good, but never try to critisize my work (if that makes any sense) I love when people critisize my work, because I know I can improve.

I am reading your stories, trust me on that, I'll see if there are any stories I haven't seen. Hope you'll check out the one story I have started writing. Plan to add onto that soon, and add another one or too. Now I know that someone won't hold back on the truth *wink*

    Thanks,

I can pronounce it and everything, it's just about remembering and learning new words. I forget them after some time because I don't use them as much as I should.

I totally agree with this i mean theres one thing being rude and then there giving actual criticism. I enjoy criticism as it points out things in my writing i need to improve i may not have noticed and can work on that can make a great difference.

I defiantly agree with your points. If you can't take constrictive criticism, don't write a story and post it online. Constrictive criticism is good for you if you plan to be a writer. Everyone has room for improvement, no matter how good you think you are.
I really liked your points and I think that everyone should read this blog entry.

I'm part Spanish, so I've been speaking Spanish my entire life. It's difficult to learn because the grammar is very complicated and different from the English grammar. Also, the pronounciation is hard for English speakers. You'll need to study a lot, Romance languages are difficult.

I mean, when I was a kid my writing was shit, but when you see 18 year olds writing like that... Facepalm

Yeah. I wish I knew Spanish, though. It's really hard to learn it fluently because I don't live with Spanish speaking people and I don't go to school with mostly Hispanics. And I wanted to learn Portuguese after Spanish because it's similar and I really like how it sounds.

Thank you :-) and I agree with you on that as well, changing as that person changes. Change is constant, once you experience life more I find it easier to write on those experiences, learning things that someone didn't know before That was well said. I always try to use the blog system for purposes in writing and everyday life, stuff that matters. Thank you so much for speaking out and giving your opinion on it as well, you've made some really good points to.

Sometimes when I get comments I really want an in-depth critique. But at the end of the day I'm just happy that people are enjoying what I write! I have usually digressed according to the material that I am not reading. Writing should make you happy first and foremost, you should write for yourself, and since you're constantly changing as a person, I believe that as a writer, your writing should change with you. If people want honest criticism, they must face that they are not an infallible writer - even bestsellers receive harsh critique - you must face up to who you are as a writer. This was a very interesting blog post and it got me thinking :)

lol this is true and I've read a few of those. Though for amusement purposes only. It's cute in a way if they're younger. Just that, when they are older it makes me wonder what they're smoking.

Some are asshats, plain and simple. I've had that happen a bit to. I'm not harsh when it comes to reviewing as I prefer not to have a retaliation war between writers but there are a few out there who will come back and retaliate if I say one bad thing. It's good to be blunt just not too overly. Sometimes it's a difference in opinion. Everyone's different and won't always have the same perception. You know your writing, only you know what you can improve. Retaliation happens, it's just the way some of these things go on a writing site.
