It is. It's really fun, but also can be very physically exhausting when we work 12, 13, 14+ hour days of constantly on the go through the shop.

I work for a company called Upstaging. We do lighting for tours/concerts, shows, things like that. I work in the shop now and help prep gear, but soon I'll go on tour and set up lighting rigs every night. We do lighting for some pretty big artists, as well as WWE/Wrestlemania. We can do a rig as big as over a thousand light fixtures to something as small as one small light in a store to put something on display.

It's actually pretty awesome. I've been there for just over a year.

I about shit a brick when I saw that. Then had to restrain myself from crying and flailing around work in excitement because I didn't want co-workers to know that I did get a raise because now I make like a dollar more than some people who've been there longer than me. But, where they can be quite lazy: I bust my ass everyday, I volunteer for overtime 99.9% of the time when they need a crew to stay late or work weekends (the only times I haven't done it or if I had prior plans that I spent money on, or I'm really sick) True story, about a month ago, I worked 13 hours with food poisoning (I wasn't throwing up, but I was extremely nauseous all day). From 8:30 am until 10 pm when one of my supervisors finally told me to go home because he'd really seen how miserable I was. The shop left 45 minutes later, but I felt so horrible for leaving. XD

Woah! That's amazing! I'm so happy for you! You got the biggest raise I've ever heard of ANYONE getting!
