Thanks for writing this, because this is very true. This site has a very strict template in terms of outlooks and such, and I feel like if I post something that not everyone will agree with, I will get attacked for it. Even in my blogs. Sometimes I just vent through a blog, and I always end up deleting right after because of how serious some people take it. It's a little sad.

Thanks for writing this. I have seen quite a few people commenting on other people's work that pretty much insults the author, plot, characters, you name it. There is a thing called constructive criticism but there is also a thing called being plain mean.

I've been bashed in the last and even currently for my work and honestly I think some people are looking for a good read and when they see it isn't what they were looking for, expected more and was downright disappointed they want to make it known to the author. It used to hurt my feelings but now it pisses me off. Those people don't have anything better to do. I agree with you if you don't like it then don't comment it unless its something you can tell the author to improve on or something. I remember this girl bashing me for the names I was giving to my characters and they werent outlandish AT ALL or how I was playing God when I made one character gay. It does sadden me when people do such things because back then I was a new writer and almost stopped posting my things on certain sites all together. Luckily I love my stories way too much to let them go.

They have nothing better to do or they just aren't confident about their pieces so they drag others down. Saddening.

I'm not sure what to say about this because this could apply to a great number of people on this site.

My thing is if you don't like something don't go looking for those kinds of stories. It's really simple unless like you said they're just looking for a reason to complain about others writing

I've seen tons of blogs like that. I've always thought it was against Mibba rules to bash others stories because essentially that's what they're doing without specifically calling anyone out by name or story.
