THIS IS A REMEMBER WHEN? MIBBA BLOG - Comments

I remember chat. When I was mibba famous on chat and I was on every single day like I was getting paid to be on there. I remember the friends I had on there: Tay and Sammy (who was the only one who knew my real name when I went by an alias) and Josh (who I lamely clammed as my Gay Best Friend an hour after meeting him) and Fred (whose name was something else but I called him Fred and who introduced me to Alesana!!) and the other Sam (who my friend Rose tried to set me up with even though he lived in Kentucky) and a ton more. I remember when we would jump from room to room trying to escape noobs who weren't part of the chatroom "in-crowd" but really wanted to be and the tests we would give them to see if they were worthy and trolling people while they were trolling you and having secret conversations making fun of the trolls through comments that they couldn't read. And all the girls jumping a guy as soon as he entered the chat. And And making rooms called something silly like "Jesus Unicorn Underworld of Skittles and Cupcakes" and making the password to enter "b00bEz" because we were so mature. I remember yelling at people when they secret messaged me because it would cause youtube to freeze up.

I remember greeting EVERY SINGLE new member and giving them each nicknames and trying to be cool by telling the boys "You'll get a million of these but, hey, welcome to mibba, bro." And, yes, comment rape. And stealing comment virginity like it was a contest and warning noobs about the chaos that was mibba world. And writing comments on people's pages that were pure nonsense just so it would be ten paragraphs long and seem like you were saying a lot of deep, meaningful things like a love letter.

When you can see who was all logged in, at the bottom of the forums page. I use to always click on random names, to see if anyone was using a profile layout I made, or to just be a creep.

THE CRASH! Oh god, I remember people freaking balls. Luckily I didn't lose anything.. Maybe just a couple of profile comments, but that was it. Haha.

DOES ANYONE REMEMBER THAT ONE BOY EVERYONE HATED AND DUJO KEPT DELETING HIM BUT HE JUST KEPT COMING BACK? AND THE BLUE AND ORANGE STARTER PROFILES? AND THE OLD LOG IN? AND DUJO'S BADASS LAYOUT?

HOW CAN YOU FORGET THE MIBBA CRASH? AND THE KANYE PICTURE OR SOMETHING THAT CAME UP WITH IT WHEN THE SITE WAS DOWN.

REMEMBER WHEN ALL OF THE FICS POSTED WERE BASICALLY JUST AVENGED SEVENFOLD, MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE, AND SOME OTHER BANDOM? AND LIKE ALL OF THE MCR FICS WERE FRERARD AND ALL OF THE PANIC! FICS WERE RYDEN.

i've been on here for for like maybe 3 years? I joined summer of 2010 (it's almost my mibbaversary!)
man, I remember when everyone used to pounce on the new users, especially the dudes lol.

I REMEMBER THE CRASH

And chat.

I remember the journals I never used journals then because I was all "no one likes me omg i should not say anything too afraid to talk to people" and then after taking a long year off I came back and they were called blogs

I remember when we used to all have unique profiles, but they were the only profile you could view. Not the generic ones now.

I remember the giant migration of 2007/2008 where everyone from Quizilla came over. I actually hated Mibba because it was so much better than Quizilla, and then I finally made an account and I don't know why I ever bothered with Quizilla

I checked, there isn't many comments welcoming new users. Well not compared to before.

I remember Brooke was brookekillskittens.

I still do questions at the end of my blogs because I'm old and set in my ways and refuse to get with this no asking people questions thing.

Aelf was awesome because we had the weirdest conversations.

I'm kind of glad that blogs are moderated now, and I'm not just saying that because I have to. Some of those "debates" were brutal, especially anytime someone made an abortion or homosexuality blog and we all knew it was just people trolling, but everyone commented anyway.

I remember that we all seemed to know each other very well because there was less people who posted every day and we'd post these appreciation blogs all the time of why we loved each other and recced out each other's stories and at one point we were assigning Futurama characters to ourselves because Aelf really loved Futurama and decided we were Planet Express.

And I remember the satisfaction that came along with posting a journal after no one had for a couple hours and then everyone else started posting again too.

I remember all of this. Omfg. I remember the "comment rape". I remember sainthood and CyFi and Aelf and ajklsd. I REMEMBER YOU BEING GABBYKILLSMEESE and I think Brooke was brookiekillskittens right?
I remember having journals with questions and comment swaps in them. I remember that girl who posted 20 blogs a day. I remember Bella. lol. I also remember Ryan [I think he went by The Doctor] and everyone loved him.

YES I TOTALLY REMEMBER THAT. BOTH OF THOSE THINGS. After the 20 would comment there would be another 5 comments of THEY GET IT CALM YOURSELVES DOWN and then back I'M JUST SAYING and no one gave a shit about content because THEY USED A SWEAR OMG.

And with the comment rape there would always be complimentary journal of why don't giiiiiiiirls get any attention wah I got 2 comments welcoming me they got 20. I wonder if that still happens or if anyone comments at all.

For a week all the journals were MY STUFF MY THINGS MY HEART and threatening to leave and more crying. It was pretty hardcore aha.

The dark days

I remember those days. I remember if someone said a cuss word (back when it was against the rules) twenty people could comment how that's against the rules.

I also remember the whole "comment rape" stuff when boys joined the site. Then some users (I'm guilty of this too) would comment complaining about the "comment rape" while adding to the comments.

Hilarious now.
