Why don't you like Allison? I can't stand Lydia. She's pretty but can seem pretty heartless sometimes. Stiles! I love him. There's never a dull moment when he's around.

As a person who posts a shit ton of blogs, I'm not offended by what you said. I still stick by the whole "Don't like it. Don't read it" motto to everyone, but I'm not mad at you for having an opinion or for stating it. In fact, I respect your opinion and can see where you're coming from. Airi said something about there being more stories posted than blogs. Maybe that is true but I think the difference on Mibba these days as opposed to old days is more people are recommending blogs more than they are stories. I think that's why there has been an uprising of blogs on the main feed instead of stories recently.

I do remember not even a year ago when the main feed was filled with nothing but story update posts so I can sympathize at least. Not everyone on here likes to constantly read blogs and would prefer stories and that is just fine. It would actually be pretty neat if they could make a filter for the home Mibba feed so you could just edit out what you didn't want to see alerts for. Sure people can go to the "Stories" section and look, but it would seem easier if you can personalize it more.

I also agree that posting blogs more sometimes is a lot easier than trying to write out a story. There could be tons of reasons why a Mibba user feels that way. For me....lately I've gotten some type of A.D.H.D. I can barely concentrate or sit still long enough to write out a new story update. However, I'm the type of person who has to constantly write something because I have so many thoughts racing through my brain that if I don't vent them somewhere, I feel like I'll overload and have a mental break down. Blogs make it easier because I can write about all kinds of random shit instead of just one concentrated idea or plot line in a story update.

On the contrary, one of the major reasons that I actually love Mibba had been its' journal section (back then) and now the blogs.

Agreed. The 'watch your mouth comment' was slightly harsh!

    @ CharmedLuna
Haha! I do like the blog section, but I can't help but miss the good old journal days of Mibba.
Huge fan of your stories by the way :)

I agree with you. Mibba is turning into Tumblr lately and people blog just to talk out of boredom, it seems.

And uh, @semolina, I think it's you that needs to watch their mouth. If someone doesn't care about pointless blogs, they have a right to say so. Just like you have the right to disagree, but there's no need to be so snotty about it. Nothing she said was offensive and this is exactly why people have become hesitant to share their opinions. Because every little thing they say is ripped apart by some butthurt person.

oh. i don't read them just by the title i can tell what it's about. they just take over My Mibba. kind of hard to see who updated when it's mostly blogs. i could just go to see on "stories" only. which i think i'll do from now on.

I knew I should not have posted this. But hey, it's just my opinion people. I do not intend to MAKE people stop making blogs about their little stuff. I just wanted to write about it because I wanted to, that's it.
Isn't this something you could apply to people writing blogs about their every days too? "People want to write about it because they want to, that's it", that's what you said, I think it seems like if others want to post about their days because they want to then that's their business. What you read or don't read is obviously up to you.

I think it depends on when you post, who reads it etc etc. I remember when I first joined in 2008 the first blog I posted I had a load of people bashing me to hell and back, saying really horrible things. Back then I didn't know I could report things so I just deleted it. Every now and then there are people who are genuinley horrible but also sometimes I think people can be oversensitive. I for one know I can be overly sensitive of people saying certain things to me, especially on the internet when it's hard to tell the tone they meant to come across in. Especially if you write about things you know people will disagree with, you sometimes have to just question whether they're actually trying to be mean or is it just maybe the heated discussion. And if you do feel bashed or attacked, just explain it calmly and reasonably and you may find the person never wanted you to feel that way at all. And if they are genuinly bashing you, of course report it to staff.

Yes, very true. And see? you said all of that nicely. I like that. I do not like to be bashed for stating an opinion. I heard someone else was treated the same and couldn't believe it until now. Mibbians have changed. They were nicer two years ago lol

It may just be those people you're following though. Maybe they're having some writers block with their stories? I for one haven't updated any of mine in months thanks to writers block, and of course this isn't a professional writing website, lots of people on here do write for fun and sometimes writing blogs is a lot more fun than writing a story. Obviously if you only want to read stories then find some people who update more regularly. I just think the way you worded it is kind of putting down people who write frequent blogs because obviously it's unfair to say all of them put no effort into stories, when it may just be a handful of them.

You had every right to post this, it's your opinion. People are saying that everyone has the right to. blog about what they want but then get mad when you do just that?
I get what you mean, I'm kind of in agreement with this blog!

yeah I think the way I worded it made it sound like I was attacking the bloggers. I should really just put more effort into it next time, haha. Like you said less people put effort into their stories and just post blogs. I guess it helps them, but I have yet to see an actual update on their stories.

I think it's okay to say that you don't like blogs about what people have for lunch or that kind of thing because I normally don't bother with those blogs either. But what I do think is a little problematic is this idea that people who post those blogs don't put as much effort into their stories. I've been on this site for almost five years, I've always posted blogs/journals as well as stories. While my blogs on here are normally on controvertial subjects, I have my tumblr where I post stuff which you may find boring. But posting those things on Tumblr doesn't stop me putting my heart and soul into stories so I think it's a little unfair to act as if these people somehow deserve to not have any comments. Some people may not blog at all and not put any effort into stories and some may blog about every meal they eat but still stay up all night trying to write the perfect chapter.

Yes, there are people like the ones you mentioned but I think the way you phrased it made it sound like an overall generalization which is really the problematic part and more than a little unfair to bloggers.

It was an awesome episode. I still dislike Allison, but I'm mostly watching for Derek and Stiles (not as "ship") but because I like them. The plot though, I have a feeling I'm not going to make it this season without crying haha

Writing a blog and a story or a poem is not the same thing. They're not comparable. It's not just to stop doing one in favor of the other. There's a whole 'nother process when it comes to creating something fictional or something as gentle flowing as a poem. Besides, isn't the whole point of a blog that you can write about either your day or more pressing subjects? If you don't care about someone's day then I say that's alright, but they should still be entitled to posting about it. I know I will probably be one of those people who blog more than I post stories, because I'm not yet comfortable with sharing my writing online. I'm sure I'm entitled.

    @ Airi.
I understand what the blogs were intended for. Honestly, I've used it for just letting out some personal stuff. But I think I'll just stop being friends with those who JUST post blogs and no longer write stories. I guess that's my pet peeve. They complain they have no feedback, but most of the time they spend their time writing blogs about how they have no comments or readers. It's just that. Nothing more.
