I never get comments like that. I wish I did. I am very open to constructive criticism, but no one ever offers it, because no one has any idea what the hell I am trying to write about! Ha. It is vague, yes, but that doesn't make it the best.

I agree with this. Tough love and constructive criticism is vital to improvement but also, there are some instances where people go past tough love and are down right rude. It's not about the author just taking the criticism wrong, some people just leave nasty comments. Not saying it always happens or anything. Just pointing that out. Cute

Whenever I want to know if my writing is correct with grammar and stuff, I just have to seek out people who will be honest with me cause usually my friends won't flat out tell me.....or they don't notice the mistakes.

I love constructive criticism! Usually it's never really detailed so I get confused on what I need to improve on or correct but I love it >.<

Very very true. At first I found it hard to receive constructive feedback as well, even if it was on things that I knew I needed to work on. But then you realize that people really are just looking out for you and are geniunely interested in what you're writing and then it almost means more than the endless compliments. you know? Honestly, I've gotten to the point where feedback is feedback - even if I'm not reading a story because I don't like something about it or if I notice something needs to be fixed, I try and leave a polite, constructive comment. Because isn't that why we post here? To get better? I don't know, that's why I do.

Long story short: yes to all of this and thank you for sharing, as always.

It's good that you got good feedback and reacted to it well. I've left people feedback similar to that before and I've ended up getting angry messages or comments back nearly every time, so I very rarely bother now unless someone specifically asks for it. But I agree, tough love is still love, at least with writing.
