Third Person POV Vs First Person POV - Comments

For me, it depends on the type of story I'm writing. Sometimes I can't choose which POV to write in, so I'll post a blog on Mibba asking users which POV they think the story would sound better in.

A user on here once asked me something, and I think it's good to question yourself on when picking POVs: do you want the reader to only know the thoughts and feelings of mainly one character (meaning first) or everyone in the story (meaning third)?

I like third person and second person. I've got into second person POV thanks to some of Chuck Palahniuk's writing style; I think it makes it more personal and makes me get more into the story than any other POV.

I have recently started a story in second person POV and so far I think it's doing great.

I'm not much of a fan of the first person POV, but mainly because I always tend to encounter Mary Sues in those stories; there are a lot of beautiful written first person stories, but it is not my favorite POV.

Oh for sure they do, I just think I am still really nervous writing in third but I think won't I get over it I would felt so worried about it anymore. They do have amazing perks for writers and help writing more but I'm just silly.

Yeah. I know I have to be really conscious about what I'm writing when I write in third person because I'll babble on about some thing and then be like "wait, that doesn't even need to be in the story." But yeah c: I like both, third makes me feel accomplished when I do it right, first makes me really think about what my characters are feeling and the feeling shows through my writing so both have perks I think.

Yeah I feel like you have to explain so much and I mean I enjoy that at times or sometimes I even feel like I stray from the story that I really want to tell to explains something else. Lol I'm so messy when it comes to third person it's not even funny.

When I started writing I wrote in third person, and when I began posting on Mibba I wrote in first. Now my latest story is back in third person and I find third person much more challenging. There's a lot more you have to write about and even when I was trying to keep my chapters short they were longer because if I kept some of the things out, it would be hard to understand.
