How did you get into writing? - Comments

  • I started writing when I was three. (Not even kidding) I told my dad what I wanted in the story and he wrote it for me. Ever since then, I have been writing stories on my own. Writing is my passion and my way of expressing my creativity.

I SUCKED WHEN I STARTED WRITING. And I didn't even write fan fiction, much less know what it was

This one time, I wrote a short story about some tiger escaping this zoo and my mom was in the kitchen listening to the news about it. omg. SHE WAS MAKING FREAKING TUNA ROLLS. DOES THAT EVEN EXIST?

So anyways, my dad arrived home and he magically saved the day. He talked about how he lured the tiger back into the cage with cheese. Tigers don't even eat cheese.

I KNOW. IT'S HORRIBLE. BUT GIVE ME A BREAK, I WAS 8 YEARS OLD

  • Ah, my story is not interesting enough that I need to post a whole blog about it. basically, I read the Warriors series (those cat books) when I was ten or eleven and wanted to write my own story about a warrior cat I made up so i did... and I kept writing short little stories that I never finished until I finally was able to get on the neopets forums (because you have to have parent consent or be over 13 to get on and I got parent consent when I was eleven) and started roleplaying, first on their Warriors roleplays, then branching out to other genres and eventually, just a couple months later, my friend introduced me to Mibba where I began writing my own stories. Not very interesting...

  • When I was young, I don't remember how young, my step-brother would always write stories. I used to beg him and beg him to let me read him, but he never would. He would always say, "It's not finished yet." Well, one day he finally let me read them and after that I just started carrying around a notebook and writing.

I was really terrible at first, but I got better and when we had to write a short story in the fifth grade my teacher said mine was the best. I started joining writing sites. (I still have a writing account on Quibblo and Quotev, but I don't write on them) and finally I found Mibba. :)

I even got a chance to write a narrative essay, which is basically a short story, in my English class last year and my teacher said it was perfect. She was like, "You used the word mumbled. No kid your age uses that word." haha That's basically how I started. And yes I did start with mostly fanfiction. :3

Aww, that's good :) Writing makes me feel so alive and away from the world, so I can relate xx

  • From what I can remember, I started writing after I read a book called Look for Me by Moonlight by Mary Downing Hahn. My first story was basically a rewrite of that novel with a few added twists to it. I didn't figure out that I had basically copied the novel until a few years later. I posted that story on quizilla, and just never stopped writing after that.
