I totally get what you mean! I told my parents that I wanted my septum and my lip pierced and they looked at me like I was a a totally different person. Just because I want piercings doesn't change who I am as a person. I wish people could understand that.

I get that with the whole "it's going to scare the customers!" bs but it may also attract certain kind of people. Like you said; some my compliment you about the or has a fascination with your body mods. Lol, thank you for understanding me! And they should start hiring more teachers like that.

    @ kitsch
A lot of people cant accept them and I get people have their own opinion but still. And it never ruins a successful career, that bothers the hell out of me when people say that. Your dad is a prime example. There are a few other people would would accept it. If they dont, workers or managers dont think you can simply take them out during work or cover your tattoos. But I have notice a few people are getting over it. Shit, they're starting to let teachers with body modification work. So society is working on it very slowly.

I love hlh. And no matter what, there will always be someone who might judge you for look all the time. It's nothing new so people to get the shit over it and hire. We are humans, we need jobs. Why cant they treat us like equal?

    Amen.
Some people just can't except the fact that body modifications are becoming more & more accepted in modern society (emphasis on modern) and it's BS when people say it completely ruins someone's chance of having a successful career. My dad has multiple tattoos and he's had a steady job for decades. Hell, even the army accepts people with tattoos. Those people who turn their noses up to body modifications need to get over it (and themselves).

    SORRY I JUST
    YOUR LAYOUT!!!
...okay I'll now read the blog lmfao
no um but seriously that shit is ridiculous. I don't think it's right to not hire people who have body mods. I do think that customers' reactions could either be indifferent or oh my god (like oh my god that's so cool! or oh my god why??) so I guess I can kind of see where managers are coming from but really. I think people should be hired/fired for their abilities or lack thereof SO SISTA I HEAR YA

First off: Hands Like Houses. Jamal looked at my camera in a picture I took. I fangirled for a few seconds. K I'm done.

Second off: here, here! My whole family is Catholic, so you can imagine what their reaction was when my cousin brought him a guy with huge gages and tattoos from head to toe (literally). Their reactions were appalling.
At a Target by my house, they forced one of the employees to take out his gages and they weren't even that big. You can't even fit a finger through them. They told him it would "scare away customers".
I went back to my elementary school to do some service hours and there was this one teacher who had a piercing at the top of her ear (the name is escaping me) and they forced her to take it out. They also fired a young one because she got snake bites. It's ridiculous.
