    I completely agree.
I don't mind people calling me white.
    That's what I am.
Jewish people don't mind being called Jews.
    That's what they are.
Why should calling a black person black be any different?

I'm sorry if that offended anyone.
    That's just how I feel.

I'm actually confused over the whole thing. Like, different people have different opinions on what's racist or not. I think sometimes I get oversensitive, not only with my race but with other people identifying another race...

I don't know, I'm just confused, but I guess you could say that I partly agree with you.

You're right on that, people do it all the time. Haitian girl? Dude from Detroit? That Russian chick, the Mexican guy? Sure, I do that. But I personally have never felt comfortable with calling people out on race. I'll leave that to state exams.

disappeared - yeah, so you want to be remembered by you'r clothes or personality. but that's just not gonna happen all the time. we remember people by what they look like. i bet you do it all the time! everyone does!
and people Do take being called black/white as an offence, but i don't understand WHY! It's NOT offensive! no-one get's offended if they are remembered ny their hair colour, for example!

Absolutely, which is why I hate being categorized. The only reason people might think I'm white is because I've got nearly pure German ancestry, but I'm still half Ecuadorian and half Panamian which translates to saying I'm just as Hispanic as the people who look it. I do get offended because I am not just a white kid... hell I am not even white. State your 'facts' if they're fucking correct. And yeah, I'm proud as hell to be different and with all the different sorts of blood I've got... which is why I'd prefer not to be called out by my skin color. I am different, and people should recognize that. But hey, sometimes people aren't even offended. They just like to start things.

umm...ok. but saying 'you're black/white' isn't stereotyping. it's stating a fact. and anyway, i don't see what's so wrong with being different, or not like another person. people should be proud to be different. the world would be boring if we were all the same colour, and had the same dress sense, and the same personality.

hey, I'm hispanic, and I can't stand being called white. I wouldn't say what you said was racist, but people do take it to offense. When people look at me it hurts to think they see just another white kid. I'm not even white, fuckers! So I say drop the skin, bring up my fucking shirt, my hair, my belt, my shoes, or better than all that shit, the things I say and the impressions I've made. Its easier to remember someone by something as independent as their race or gender, but its far more respectable to remember someone by their charming personality, a unique trait, their overall first impression on you.

    I know!
It's just stupid how people are like "that's racist!" the whole time.
It's not racist unless it's meant to be insulting or demeaning.
I mean, I don't call my lawyer every time I'm described as short, so what's wrong with describing someone as black?
