Hey! I'm having the same problem as you are, and I generally do think that usually on Friday nights to Sunday mornings (EST) is a great time for updating. Although, sometimes, posting on Thursday nights have also yielded results!

Also, do try this article : How to Get More Readers for Your Stories . It gives us writers a bunch of clever ways in order to attract readers!

If you are looking for something to read, try one of my works. I have written a Romance/Fantasy piece, and am in the beginning stage of a Horror/Sci Fi project as well. The links are found at the bottom of my signature. I can't guarantee that there won't be any teen angst in my works, but I could also recommend some stories that could suit your description. There is Rough Petals which is a Romance/Drama work, if you are into that genre. . .I would love to recommend more, and if you want so, just drop me a message!

    Hope this helped you!

    ~ Verona :)

Usually publish them at night so that way it gives you a break from the computer and time for other people to see and read it. It also helps if you talk about your story in author notes and put a link to it.

I'm not sure what timezone you're in, but mine is Brisbane, Australia's so after 12/1PM my time, blogs and stories
aren't updated / posted as frequently so by the time it's late afternoon until around 10/11 PM, it's stagnant for the most part.
    Think

As for recs, you could read Bebe-Mochi which is about geishas or Tallulah which is about
a young girl and her family, set over the period of time from the 50s-70s, which doesn't have so much
teen angst because it doesn't center on just her life / experiences.
