Yeah it's quite unfair to be puy in that position.

I know! I mean it doesn't hurt to see if you (in general) may have feelings for the other person beyond being friends by going out with them one time or hanging out with them alone (pressure free obviously) but the whole pressuring thing is just stupid really. No one likes being put on the spot.

This on so many levels! >.< I was guilt tripped into dating my last boyfriend by not only my boyfriend (who was my best guy friend at the time), but by all my lady friends because they all wanted him to quit asking about me and shit. >.<

Yeah of course. If you know the person you're with is probably down with marriage go for it. But if you're a little uncertain or if you're using a proposal as a last ditch effort to save a relationship then you have problems homeboy.

I agree. And the same goes with engagements/proposals. Like, I would love a huge elaborate surprise proposal, but not a surprise engagement. And whenever I see a surprise engagement, I'm just like eeeeeeeeee, which if they say no??? On the Jumbotron in front of everyone?

I think it's much better to communicate. Then you'll know if such gestures are welcome.

But I've had girls complain about me friend zoning them or being shallow for not dating them because I don't like nice genuine girls or can't handle real women or some shit lol. It could never actually be that I just find them boring and unattractive.

All of this. I hate people who bitch about the damn friend zone. If you're really such a "nice guy" you wouldn't try to pressure a girl into dating you and making her feel bad when she doesn't want to and then making her look like a bad person. That is not cool.
