This is actually very interesting as there was a peaceful protest rally here in Melbourne a couple of weeks ago by a group of pro-lifers and they were descended upon by the "pro-choice" protesters who proceeded to get violent. Now I wasn't there but I saw the news footage and it wasn't pretty that people felt the need to get violent just because someone else held a different opinion to them. I don't necessarily agree with the pro-lifers but didn't see the point in the violence I saw on the news.

As to the subject matter myself, I'm not a fan of abortion as I don't think I could do it, but on the other end of the scale if someone wanted one or had to have one for medical reasons, rape, whatever, who am I to cast stones and call them a murderer. I'd probably feel a bit different if a woman's had so many abortions her uterus is about to fall out, but at the end of day nobody should be able tell anyone else what they can and can't do with their bodies.

we shouldn't even call pro-lifers that because they don't even value the life of the woman (or man) who wants to not be pregnant anymore in the first place. I'm pretty fond of anti-choice...

I hate the argument that once you get pregnant it's not your body anymore. When I was younger I used to be so against abortion, and in some cases - I am but I would never tell someone that she couldn't have one. PERSONALLY I wouldn't have one. I just couldn't do that.

The people who are pro life are the same ones who preach about welfare being too easy to get, yet they don't want to help prevent women from having to use the government in such a way. I'd also like to point out that most prolifers - don't care about the baby once it's born...

Adoption isn't a miracle answer.... and I don't think a lot of people get that. I knew a girl was "Adopted" four times, and each time the family abused hr in some way - she only got out of that because she turned 18... Even if you pick the family, there is no garuntee that they're good people.

Thank you for this post! These "pro-lifers" don't get that if abortion is made illegal it does not mean abortions will disappear. Women's lives will be put at risk. Another thing that pro-lifers bring up is that if you don't want the baby, then just put the baby up for adoption. As if that's something simple and easy to do. Adoption is a really hard decision, and there's always the chance it could affect badly the mother and the child (psychologically). My cousin is adopted and I'm all for that, but don't make it out to be like it's some easy-peesy solution.

If the did that, there would be back alley abortions. O.O
Bingo. If abortion was made illegal, there would be SO many unsafe abortions and SO many people would be injured, scarred, or even killed from the side effects.

It doesn't matter what is made illegal in this country, people still do those things, and abortion will just be another thing to add to the list.
