  • There should be a thread that offers help with foreign language in stories! But since there isn't, if anybody ever needs help with French I'm your gal. (it's my major)

  • I'm actually pretty surprised by the amount of users who don't know Spanish (particularly the ones living in the U.S). Spanish seems to be becoming just as common as English is in the U.S, so it surprises me a bit that so many people still don't even know the basics of the language. Even if they're not fluent, I half expect more people to know the basics of Spanish.....or at least enough to spell common words correctly. I'm proficient in Spanish I guess you could say, definitely wouldn't call myself fluent considering how much my grammar sucks. I can form sentences correctly enough that people will understand me, but it would probably drive anyone who cares a lot about grammar crazy. Coffee

My native language is English, although I can speak enough Spanish and I'm learning Japanese. I could probably help translate basic sentences in Romaji and (hopefully) Hiragana. I only know the basics of Romaji and Hiragana since I've only just began the Hiragana lessons. I can't do anything complicated with Japanese though, I won't get to that for a while probably. Gotta figure out how to read the language first. Shifty

  • There's no specific thread just for finding a beta in another language because I doubt it'd be used very often and the languages offered by other Mibbians would be very limited. You could always ask in the Story Brainstorming + Mentoring thread for someone though to consistently help you with your story, or you could use Fact Finder to translate sentences when necessary. Or even you could ask in General Q & A for language help, such as with grammar and translating if you need. So there are threads that already exist you could utilise and of course you can always message a board mod as well with these types of questions. Cute

My native language is Polish (which is entirely useless File), I'm also fluent in French, and I'm proficient in Dutch and German. I'm fairly certain I've used all four in stories on here. I really enjoy writing in other languages, but I've found it's really hard to get people to read anything other than Spanish.

  • Also, does anyone know if there's some kind of forum for help in writing in another language? Or like maybe there's (or there should be) some beta's where they help you edit things in a certain language.

I don't htink there is, but if there was I could be of help there since my Greek are perfect. tehe My first language is Greek, second English, then I know a bit of German and French.

  • Not exactly an answer to what you are looking for, but I thought I'd punch in. I was raised with English, but pretty much a majority of my family is Mexican, so I understand Spanish pretty well from that, and from years of taking classes.
