Not going to lie, when I see most of this stuff in a story... I just close it. And there's soooo many that have it in there.
I can understand if they make a character really pretty, and then give them one feature that they're insecure about, almost everyone has at least SOMETHING they don't like about themselves. But you're right, when they make them these stunningly beautiful specimens and then the character does nothing but talk about how ugly or plain they are... drives. me. nuts.
I read this all the time when I started reading stories on the Internet on Quizilla. I don't know why people still do it. If I see stupid stuff like that, I immediately just stop reading.
Adding to the description of the characters, when the author uses the OVERFUCKINGUSED "look myself in the mirror" introduction of characters. And don't even get me started on "He looked at my green orbs" like wtf? NO. EYES. EYES. THIS is a green orb and THIS is a green eye.
Whoa look at that girl with the nice chest and big booty but hold on she's not like other girls. She's different. She likes sports and she burps and all the sex her life is just sexsexsex and I heard she met Justin Bieber last night but eh, whatever.
I know!
