{With any luck they'll be at Warped this year and I can see him again. He's perfect.} It takes all the cliches and makes one big story out of it. It's amazing.

    @ I feel insane
I mean, I know what it's like for people to not like what I write, but at the same time, it's helpful. True writing is meant for people to be free to do as they please, but at the same time.. The whole 'scene' thing is just annoying.

Some people who write stories just want a reason to have an obnoxious character that they wish they were. But as sad as it makes me, if people were like that.. I don't think I could be near them.

And exactly, the cutting thing for depth? Makes no sense to me.

    @ ptvjaime
{ hehe, I touched his hand before <3 } And, YES! Ohmygod, thank you! I hate it because the whole story is like: DON'T LABEL ME. BUT LET ME DRESS LIKE HOW YOU LABEL ME AND ACT THE SAME WAY TOO.

It doesn't make your character unique or anything. Just annoying and fitting into the stereotype they're trying to avoid -.-

    @ Anchor and Hope.
I remember when I first joined and that's ALL I saw and I thought that is what my characters were supposed to be like. Oops .-. ..

The scene thing I can almost tolerate from afar because I figure it's what they want to write, and I just don't read it. I don't know, I feel a bit bad for scorning them because I know how it feels to have people disprove of what you write, generally speaking.

The cutting thing though... yeahhh. I feel like some users see self harm as giving your character depth and good conflict, but it just doesn't work that way.

    Holy crap yes.
I ALWAYS think that! "What would a 32 year old man want with a teenager with neon hair?!"

Albeit, it has gotten a little better. They were freaking EVERYWHERE.

{Thank you. It was originally just his name but I thought this would be more fun. <3} That's exactly the problem! Like, can't you make a character not defined by their clothing and makeup and music choice? Because half the story will be, Don't judge me for this. But then it's like, You're the stereotype!

{ I love your username } and I agree with you completely! People take it as a lifestyle though, not some type of trend. And with that "lifestyle" sense, they go so overboard.

See, now this goes back to something I was talking about with a friend. It's a fashion trend, not a lifestyle. Why can't the characters just dress that way and not be obsessed with everything related to the culture and maybe not shop at Hot Topic ALL THE TIME BECAUSE IT'S KINDA EXPENSIVE AND DUDE. NO. Or better yet. Can't they just be normal looking? I listen to BOTDF but I don't have rainbow hair or wear makeup or skinny jeans or anything. You do not have to tie it all together, you know?

Agreed, completely. It's just super annoying sometimes. Seriously, 20-30 something year old men are not gonna want some chick with obnoxious hair and terrible grammar.
lmfao I'm sorry but this blog is too true! I've seen it in too many stories and I really want to comment and say PLEASE STOP! But I would feel too bad because that person has worked hard on a story Sad Wink

You mostly find this in band fiction and original fiction written by 12-15 year olds.
