Yeah, of course, some things are unnecessary.

I like self-harm, abuse, ED, racism, rape trigger warnings. But I think there's such a thing as too much. For instance: character death and swearing. Most people here are old enough to understand swear words will pop up in a story over G and character death warnings just ruin the entire fucking plot. I also don't see the need to warn for slash.

But anything that could trigger another is well worth warning over.

Exactly. There's absolutely no reason to complain to the author if they warned the reader. Trigger Warnings are just very helpful to me and, I hope, the readers, in my opinion.

Yeah, oh my God, don't even get me started on 'don't like, don't read'. I will intentionally not read their story because, yeah, it's unnecessary and rude.

I agree completely. I mean I like to have a warning like this contains violence, gore, self harm etc but the whole "don't like, don't read" I just find unnecessary and rude.

Totally agree with this. I think trigger warnings are good for not only the reader but for the author as well. At least if someone is warned but reads anyway and still insults the author for their choice of story content..... Then obviously it shows the character of some people.
