I'm the same. I am currently working on trying to finish LvL before I bother updating, just to save those that might happen to still read it from infrequent updates. I have 4 pre-writes done, so I'm getting there!

You're not a horrible person for feeling that way. I've done the same recently. I haven't been as active on here as I used to be, and I've fallen behind on so many stories. I always told myself that I would catch up later, and then months would go by without me going back to check on the story. I do feel sort of bad for abandoning a story that I used to love, but if it isn't holding my interest anymore, then there is no point in me sticking around. It's why I don't blame people if/when they unsubscribe to my stuff. I know I can be a bit long-winded with the chapters and then I update so infrequently that it shocks me when I have people who stick around.

That's not petty at all. I probably would've done the same, as it irks me when a writer posts multiple chapters with content that could've easily made up one single one. It's a pet peeve. Haha. And it takes the excitement out of getting that email that tells you that there's a new chapter when a writer updates too frequently. Haha. There's no suspense!

Yeah, there's some I deleted that I will probably go back and read once it's done, since I didn't have anything against the story, so much as I decided to unsubscribe since I wasn't in the mood for that type of story right now.

I haven't had any recommendations of stories in the genre I wanted, unfortunately. I was in the mood for cheesy stuff and no one had any! Hahaha.

I think everyone does that at some point. I had to do it a story a while back and whilst this may sound petty, she was updating it about 5 times a day and I couldn't keep up lol. She's up to about 167 chapters now when I saw it in the stories list a while ago.

I think it depends on what mood I'm in at the time. I might leave it for a while in my list but if I'm off that certain subject for a while I may leave it and unsubscribe and then go back to it later.

Well I've definitely got one story you won't want to read as it's vampires even though it's more light than doom and gloom lol

Yeah, it's making me think that maybe that's why so many people silent read. So that if the story doesn't hold their interest and they want to stop reading it, the author won't know or take it as personally because they won't know they were reading it. Haha. I don't mind so much if there's gaps with updating, mostly coz I'm guilty of that myself, but when I feel like it's a chore to read it, I end up having to unsubscribe.

Dont worry about offending them, I do it all the time, I have the same problem as you. I don't want to be a cow, cause I feel like Im being one, but if they dont update, or if the story isnt my thing anymore...i press the 'x'...
