    @ sheepcat;
    Eh, it's how it is. I'll see where life takes me, if it was meant to be then maybe it'll happen after all, you know?
    I hear you. And you shouldn't let what people think ruin your plans. Everyone's got a place in this life, some of us get to be lawyers and doctors and some of us get to be in the artistic "good luck with making a living off THAT" type jobs. It's a shame nobody wants to take a step back and realize everyone has their own path to follow.

    @ Zelda is a Sorceress
    Thanks for the help.
    That sucks that your parents didn't let you try. You, at least, had the skills to be able to.
    I know friends aren't forever, but I've got another three years with these guys. They're the only ones that I can stand to hang out with in my class. I dread to think what everyone else thinks of my life goal. (I'll give you some context - I go to a school that is 80% Asian.)

    For tour manager I'd like to think all you'd need to know is how to book shows for a band, take care of finances and stuff like that. Try finding local bands who might be interested in bringing you on board.
    For writing in magazines I think you'd have to write in and ask if they need a columnist or whatever you want to apply for, and show what skills you have in writing. I'm not totally sure if either one of these is correct but it's an idea.
    I'm sorry your friends haven't been supportive. I was in the same boat for a while; all I wanted to be since I was 12 was a musician and my parents, especially my mom, did everything they could to steer me away from that. Between not allowing me to be in a band, not letting me take advantage of opportunities my guitar teacher was giving me, and talking about how "not talented" I was in front of me to other people as well as to my face when they hadn't even heard me or given me a chance. I eventually gave up, and I really wish I hadn't. So, no matter how bad shit gets don't give up because you're going to regret it. And friends don't always last forever anyway ;)
