Tragic, it really is. My heart goes out to his little girl, his family (biological and career), and to all of us who also grieve his loss. I was glad to hear that they believed he was dead upon impact, that way he didn't have to suffer the pain of burning. There are so many bad celebrities out there that it's hard to accept something so horrible happening to those who actually cared about people and tried to make a difference.
I didn't know his friend, but I'm sorry he's gone as well. He sounds like a pretty awesome guy as well. I kinda think it's a good thing he died as well, just so he didn't have to live the rest of his life with the guilt of being the one who was behind the wheel of the car that killed his friend. That's a horrible feeling to live with.
I was badly affected by this news as well although I didn't cry. I got very angry at some people who were being very disrespectful of their deaths one day and the next night I had a horribly related nightmare that left me in a sweat and shaking. I know a lot of people can only think about the fate of the next movie which is now only half finished and whether or not it's going to be delayed/finished, but there's something bigger to think about. Two people are dead and people are suffering. This is much more important then their entertainment! People can be so...inconsiderate to that fact.
Though the pain may fade and the wounds of those left behind may begin to heal, these two men will never be forgotten. I can only hope that their friends and family can find some comfort in the knowledge that they were loved by so many. Roger, Paul you have helped so many and in return you have gained what many seek: immortality. For immortality isn't really immortal life, but eternal remembrance. You will both live on in the hearts of thousands forever through those who knew and loved you personally, for those who loved you in fandom, for those who loved you through your actions, and for the future generations who will love you through the stories passed down.
We light our candles in memory of you, united by you. Rest in peace and blessed be.
In regards to him dying upon impact, CNN has recently published that Paul died from both traumatic injuries and thermal injuries... I've also seen the video that someone took of before the car blew up, while it was smoking and then on fire... It's hard to say for certain but I'm 99% sure you can see him struggling to get out on the opposite side of the car. It's a sickening video to watch because the guy recording the video was a total dunce, and just seeing the car knowing... It's hard. I actually called my mom in the middle of the night crying from a nightmare because of it.
It's hard for me to see the people who are only concerned with the next movie too because Paul was much more than that. He was a freaking real-life hero. And Roger... he was too. They were both people that I looked up to for all the charity work they did.
I'm big on tattoo's and getting them for sentimental and extremely personal reasons. In fact, all the tattoo's I have are in regards to someone else except for one that I have for myself. I actually have one for Jimmy from A7X on my right arm, I plan on getting one for Paul too probably a car and it's going to say Race in Paradise PW.
<3 Race in Paradise brothers, you will be forever missed and remembered. <3
