Unfortunately love and hurt are a package deal for friends and family, it's just the way it is.

Needless to say after a couple weeks she came around and now her life is on the right track, it was rocky and scary at some points, but she did change and turned her life around.
Sometimes all you can do is be there, we all have our own battles and knowing someone is there through thick and thin with no indifference to them makes them feel better.
