My friend once likened childbirth to squeezing a watermelon out of her eye socket. In other news, that same day I swore off childbirth for at least ten years.
@ NeverWakeMeUp Well hopefully when you do try, you won't have any problems! I definitely want to go to a doctor, that's for sure! Writing about it is actually a great idea. Thanks!
I COMPLETELY understand where you're coming from with the whole period/fear of not being able to get pregnant. I've never been diagnosed with PCOS but I have had issues since I was 12. I've been on every birth control under the sun, multiple hormones/meds, undergone surgery, etc and I'm still not regular. I have a cousin that's currently going through InVitro and I'm seriously afraid that I'll never be able to have kids even though we haven't started trying yet (but we get plenty of practice when he's around haha) If you've been trying for a year and you get to the doctor, they will definitely look into it. Once you're trying for a year they won't brush it off at all and they'll try to find the root of the cause.
On a side note, one of my ways of coping with it is to write about it. It's actually a big part of one of my series and writing about it is very therapeutic for me
@ xMandiblesx Oh yeah it makes me laugh because he asks questions about periods and things to do with that but my other guy friends are just like, "ew no, periods, back off," but they sometimes buy me food if they've figured out I'm on so they don't annoy me hahaha.
@ raw. Hahaha yes. Trying is the fun part. That made me giggle about your guy friend lol. I always think it's comical to watch how uncomfortable most guys act in regards to periods or when girls talk about it.
@ strigoi. I may have tried Pampirin once. I'm not sure. I know I've used Midol back in the day and it didn't help. Naproxen helped for awhile but now if I feel cramps coming on, I can usually take IB Profen and they'll go away in like ten minutes.
My friend gave me these pills she got from a doctor that's supposed to help you get pregnant but I only took them from her to be nice. Like...I'm not comfortable taking things that aren't prescribed for me. Everyone is different, ya know?
That's sweet of you to say that stuff though. I'd probably end up spoiling my kid because I'd love it so much lol.
It's so weird cos I came on this morning and I've had the worst cramps since I was found curled up in a ball in my school toilets a few years ago. I couldn't even get down the stairs and I was throwing up. One of my guy friends can always tell when I'm on cos he goes "you're paler than usual, you're on your period aren't you?" and I'm like haha. I hope the trying soon turns into a baby on the way, it's always fun to try haha!
@ JJ; I know...I shouldn't feel that way. I just feel like a failure most of my life to begin with so that would kind of add to it for me personally. Thanks though!
@ WishingOnDeadStars You're welcome lol. I mean in a way....I guess some guys who don't really know in depth about what all goes on with a period probably just hear us women bitching about something and don't know the reasons behind it but still....
Periods are inconvenient for sure. Thanks though about the luck wishing! I've always wanted kids and I have a lot of luck to give and I am happiest when I care for other people.
Thank you for laying out to mankind what we go through each month
And I'm gonna be honest here, I'm terrified to ever get pregnant, but I'm also only 17 and I'd get a shitstorm from my parents lol. I'll definitely agree with you that birth is weird but wonderful (I saw my mom have her last kid and I had nightmares for a week, but I love my brother to death now). I hope for your sake you get to have a lovely little kiddo. It makes me angry that people abuse or abort kids when there are so many people like you who would do anything to have one. Anyways, best of luck :)
Thanks love! Your kind words mean a lot!
