This is the first time I used mibba since they changed it. I don't use mibba at all. I loved making my own layout. Then they took that away...

    @ PoeticMess.

I can totally relate. Totally and completely. I was a horrible writer. But people still drove me to continue. The people on this website helped me improve. And they brought up my confidence, saying that my writing was good, even though I know that it was absolute crap back then. But, if it weren't for this website, I don't even know if I would have had the confidence to continue doing what I love.

And you know what I totally miss? Those little boxey alerts that would say how many comments you got on each story. You know what I mean? They used to look so much cooler. I remember I would try to save up as many as I could. And I would get so freakin' excited whenever I saw one. The new alerts aren't as cool.

I love that idea. I think it is fantastic. We should definitely think of ways to get users to feel welcomed and excited about coming onto this site. I notice way too many new users who make a new account, stay on for a couple of days, and then just leave. We have to give them a reason to stay. For the old users, too. We should make themed days and host dance parties. Maybe have some sort of journal day? Or a creative day to make collages and stuff? And we should bring back the custom layouts. Even if they are not the main profile pages now. I think it would still be nice to update them and have fun with them. And we could even have some sort of NaNoWriMo. Our own version or something? Like write 2,000 or 5,000 words in a day? Or we could make a little calendar thing and assign a certain amount of words for each day of the month to see if people can reach it? I dunno. Just a random thought. I think that there are plenty of ways that we could keep the party going. If we are willing to try.

I joined Mibba in the middle of 2009 and was literally amazed at the sense of community that it had. No other writing website had that. We spoke kindly of each other and helped out if we could. And now... it's seldom. And honestly, it came with the new layout. I joined for the community and now I find it hard to log on sometimes because there hardly is a sense of community. At least to me. I love the new layout but I miss the sense of family even more, y'know? I'm babbling.

I joined in 2009 and was a terribly inexperienced writer but I still got comments all the time with feedback and encouragement and now there's just nothing, ever. That's the hardest part of New Mibba for me. I miss the sense of community with Old Mibba.

I joined Mibba during the old Mibba's final months. Gaahh I loved the custom layouts on profiles. And I remember how everyone welcomed me when I first joined. I always did it to the newcomers as well but now that it's changed I never know who the newcomers are and I can't do it anymore :(

All I remember of old Mibba is ORANGE. Ugly yucky orange
I remember wanting to sheild my eyes because the orange-ness bothered me so much.

The first thing I do when I see a user name is scroll over and if avalible I click on the little what looks like paint swatches and look at the custom profiles. That's the one thing I really miss. Now it's all boring and the same when you click on a user name. I want to know WHO the person is and impersonal profiles don't help with that

Oh my God, excuse me while I cry..

I miss old mibba too! I haven't been on my layout site for the longest time. I did a promise that I wouldn't stop making layouts... But apparently I've broken it. And now this makes me sad. Sad

I remember joining Mibba back in 2008! I miss the old Mibba and the personalized layouts!
I've made such good friends though this site (serendipity; being one of them). But now, it's like impossible to make friends on here. It's like a freakin' high school clique system. It makes me sad!

We should start bringing spunk to the site...welcoming members and such, getting people pepped up about different things and such. Just dropping random comments to users just to say how much we appreciate them.

    Old Mibba. Cry

Those custom profiles were one of my favorite parts of it. I loved clicking on a username to see their profiles and how amazing some of them looked. I wish that they had kept them as the main page that loaded, but I can understand why it didn't stay. Think

I can totally understand the sense of community change, though. That's definitely not the same as it used to be. I think it's different though for every user — back on Old Mibba, I was so excited to be on and it was my home, and seeing new users was way easier to view and everything. But now? I go on to just see what's going on, and when I finish a chapter I update it, but other than that... I hardly use the comment section anymore. It's just. Different.

    I concur.

And yeah, the new people will never understand just how amazing this place used to be. I mean it's still good, but I don't get excited to come on like I used to.

    @ serendipity;

I totally know what you mean. I made my account in 2010. And everybody was just lovely. They made me feel so welcomed. And people used to leave so much more feedback. I just wish that people would get lost in Mibba again. It used to be so easy to lose track of time while on here.

I really do wish that people would be friends again on here. Nowadays there are just too many arguments and people that just seem to shut themselves away.

We should really find a way to pep up Mibba. There used to be dance parties and special Mibba events. What happened to those?

I remember when I first made my account in 2009, and everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Now, it seems like people don't even bother to speak to each other anymore. I've also noticed that there seems to be a divide between Mibbians on here now.

I don't know, either. Mibba used to be like one big family. And now it just seems to have dispersed into cliques and friends here and there. I think Mibba has to do something to really get members excited and drawn in. So many people are leaving. I miss my old friends. Somebody needs to put some spunk into this site again.

And it makes me sad to know that new members will never be able to experience Old Mibba.

Yeah, this used to be a real welcoming community and it was so easy to make friends and I personally don't feel like it is anymore and I don't know what caused it to change.

I totally remember that! I still try to do that sometimes. And I know that there are still people who do. But there are not nearly as many people as there used to be. Pretty much everybody used to do that. Now there are only about five people who still try.

Do you remember when people used to welcome new members? Does anyone even do that anymore?
