Sneaky Sound System and Van She should go on your music list because they're pretty awesome. I think Emma Louise is Australian too. Strange Talk for sure is and Miami Horror. Cut Copy, Bag Raiders, the Lucksmiths. Then Empire of the Sun and Pnau are as well but I won't blame you for not wanting to claim them.
@ swell Me too! When my friend didn't know what I was saying I was like, "...really? You don't know what a fortnight is?" Who would have known?
Ha ha, fair enough. =P I would have thrown in AC/DC anyway, just because I think they're known world wide. The other two probably aren't that well known. XD
Noo, I didn't listen to it! I'm not much of a radio person. I saw a comment about it on Facebook every now and then, but that's about it.
@ Haylie Jaed No problem! Oh yeah, sometimes I do hear struth but I forgot about that one. YEAH IKR I didn't realise that fortnight was an Aussie thing, I seriously thought everyone knew it! People on here from the US have asked me and I'm like...isn't this a common word?
I did think of those bands but I don't generally listen to them and I was trying to think of artists that were more current? right now. However I shall add them in
Comfort has been taken. Did you listen to triplej hottest 100?
@ sheepcat; Pisses me off, man. Like, stop it. It's not attractive, it's not funny, it's just flipping annoying. The people at your school annoy me
@ Anchor and Hope. YEAH CALUM You touch all you want I'll just keep Ashton for myself
@ oasis. My friend was neknominated but she didn't do hers which annoyed me because she would have nominated me and since there are more guys that are being nominated than girls, I wanted to show everyone on fb who's boss But nooooooo ~
Wow, I'm mentioned in this. =O Didn't see that one coming!
Thank you for mentioning the Aboriginals. I have Aboriginal blood in me (though you can't tell by looking at my pale-as-hell skin) and it's always nice to see them being recognised.
I would also like to add that even I managed to learn some new slang here! XD My uncle is one of those people who really does say, "G'day, mate!" and things like, "Strewth!" (I might have spelled that wrong.)
Other words I know that most (Americans, at least) people don't hear often are "postie" (short term for "postman") and fortnight (which means "two weeks"). I said these words to my Wisconsin-based friend once and she had no idea what I was on about.
And may I add to the music category, Linkin Park, AC/DC and Midnight Oil? ;)
Anyway. Thank you for writing this blog, and thank you for the mention!
(And take comfort in knowing that I am also spending the day sober, and BBQ-less.)
PEOPLE THAT SAY PIT A SHRIMP ON THE BARBIE OMG NO. First, they are prawns, second, just no. So many people say it at school trying to be "cultured". Ugh, no.
Dude, I was on urban dictionary and I saw necknominate and I dieddd, but this was such a fun blog & really cute too! also yes, much love for Calum bc he got strippers and is v. happy birthday boy I'm assuming. If I ever want to have an Australian character, I'm so coming to you for help!
I resent being called a sheep shagger. Us Aucklanders don't really have sheep to shag, we have those pav's you like to say you own ;) hahaha. xD This is so excellent
