I have to be calm before I write. It's hard to immerse yourself in your characters' world when you're too focused on your own, or at least that's how it is for me. Once I'm writing though, I just let myself feel exactly what my character is and then that should be translating into the overall tone, which I think makes it more authentic
I write better when I'm feeling some type of strong emotion, although most of my writing is pretty depressing and it comes out of sadness or loneliness. Or if I find an awesome song that inspires me I'll write then too.
I write best when I'm alone, because then there's nobody to tell me to get off the computer and go clean my room or whatever. I also find that I get better inspiration late at night, when everything is quiet and I can concentrate.
I don't work like that. When I write I get into character a bit too much that I feel what my characters feel, forgetting my own feelings. I work like an actor on that aspect.
I'm not entirely sure. I don't think I have reached my writing peak yet, I'm hoping that happens soon. But I think my writing right now is subpar, which is seriously bothering me.
I usually write best when there isn't too much thought into it. Like I just go with the flow and start writing. Or when I find a really good song that just puts me in the mood I want to relate to my writing.
It depends on what I'm writing, really. My mood usually translates into the mood of my piece. I write better "that time if month" actually. I'm way more emotional and it sometimes it works out.

When I write my pieces like Salut, Ça Va? and Guilt Trip I'm usually in a weird mood between sad and just mellow. If I'm writing a certain genre like horror I have to be in a weird mood and usually romance and fluff is when I'm happy xD I'm weird.
