Oh, basically someone just starts a prompt. Like a paragraph or so just to get things started. They usually introduce their character or the background or the situation at hand. And then another person adds in with an introduction of their character. And they just sort of feed off of each other's previous post and build a story out of it. People come in at any time and start adding to the story as well. It's a lot like co-writing, only that it's usually just a few paragraphs or sentences at a time. And there usually aren't any rules (aside from controlling the freewill of other people's characters or whatever is specific to the fandom or universe) and there isn't a lot of prior planning. You just see what the next person adds and go from there. It's a lot of fun!

I don't roleplay anymore because I don't play well with others. Hahaha. But it was fun in the old days. And thanks. ^.^

If you get copyright permission from the person or owner if who/what you are writing about, it's perfectly legal. I think there is Take That fan fiction in AO3, and I always wrote about Mark whilst my friend wrote about Howard In Love

It's one of the best and Anne Rice's novels are great. She wrote Queen of the Damned. In Love

Wow, that's pretty great how you've taken a liking to vampires and of the like. Is the movie good? I think I'd like to watch it!

    @ Join the Masquerade
So you started reading before venturing into the writing side of things? That's pretty cool!

    @ Bill Kaulitz
Powerpuff Girls, that's amazing haha! I didn't know that existed, I really want to read some of that fiction now haha.

    @ And I'm On Fire.
Take That, incredible, I love them! Mark In Love I'd love to see fan fiction published, I really would because quite a lot of people write incredibly good fan fiction and I don't think they get the credit for their hard work. My mum has told me (for when I become a writer in the future, hopefully!) to publish my fan fiction but there's all the legalities from who you're writing about. But that sounds really good actually!

    @ leia organa
Writing definitely helps with anger, I've found that out and I'm incredibly passionate about it. It's a great form of release. I'm glad you're finding the same too!

    @ Olli Maatta
Wow, you've overcome quite a bit then! I'm the same with my story on wattpad. I don't regret writing it even though it was, in my words, (pardon my French!) shit. I wouldn't rewrite it though. That was a...gateway sort of thing for me and opened up my imagination a lot more than I thought it could. Writing definitely helps me in whatever situation I'm in.

    @ Indigo Umbrella
Hey, I'm Robs! Roleplaying looks absolutely cool, but I have no idea what goes on during it Don Wow, Bachelor's degree, that's amazing! I wish you luck with it Very Happy

    @ colibri
Thank you! That's not boring at all, it's quite fascinating learning how other people have gotten into writing and being inspired by your mum is wonderful. I love reading murder stories so recommend me your to read if you'd like!

You have such an interesting story. It's a really good story.

I started writing because of my mother. She's a journalist, and also an author, and she really inspired me to begin writing. I think I was ten. I stopped writing, but then I started writing again because of Mibba, which I discovered through a really good friend. It started with a really bad co-written fic about The Maine (that was quickly deleted). I hated writing fan fiction for some reason, so I started writing really dark original stuff about murder which helped me get out my frustration, and now I'm where I am today. Pretty boring stuff.

Hi, raw.! My name is Indigo. I am also trying to be more active on Mibba. I got into writing when I was about 18 thanks to the Lord of the Rings. I joined a MSN Roleplay site and went CRAZY coming up with characters from every known race in Middle Earth. I had such a blast doing it that I started writing real stories and never stopped.

And I was actually really terrible in English in high school. Becoming a writer is what helped me learn and now I'm studying for my Bachelor's Degree in English. Lol.

I started writing back in my 7th grade year (middle school so it's easily been almost 10 years.) My English teacher gave us an assignment and from there, I got into Avenged Sevenfold. My first fan fiction (which I used to write on Quizilla if anyone remembers that site) was about Synyster Gates and it was a horribly written fic when I look back on it. But I don't regret it. Writing has helped me so much with my dyslexia, my severe depression, and my anxiety. Now, I still write fics but I also have a diary/journal that I keep and I write mostly about hockey players. But I do believe I have Teen Wolf and A7X on my resume of writing :)

I always wrote fiction as an outlet for my anger and frustration. If I didn't, there more than likely would have been a school shooting by now. In middle school a friend told me about Mibba, which greatly helped my writing. Now I'm still here and still writing, and it's kind of become more than just an anger outlet now.

I started writing fan fiction with my best friend when I was like, 10 and we had no idea what it was. We would write about Take That (ikr my childhood was full of great music). I started writing Harry Potter fan fiction on a site called Stardoll and since then I've tried to be a more professional writer that writes fan fiction.
And I'm super glad you found something to help you! :D

I've been writing as long as I can remember. I don't even know how I got started. I just found my first fanfiction about the Powerpuff Girls being sent to boarding school. :) I was about six or seven I guess, so it's just always been a thing I've done.

    That teacher sounds amazing. :)

I got into writing because I was on geekstinkbreath.net (Mibba's sister site for Green Day fans) wayyyy back in the day and I found the fan fiction section there. So I ventured over to here and started reading all these stories and it made me want to write my own.

Well, I sucked really bad back then. My stories were all over the place. XD I'd improved a lot though. And I have mibba to thank for that. ^_^

I got into writing by watching the Queen of the Damned movie. I liked it so much that I wrote all the dialogues from the movie in paper so I could read it again and again because my mom wouldn't let me to see it whenever I wanted. I was around ten back then. Thanks to that movie, I took a liking to vampires and started writing my first vampiric story.

everyone seems to have started young and I started when I was fourteen/fifteen haha Embarassed but that sounds really good, using it as a form of therapy because that's what I do too :)

I recall it was actually first listening to AFI. Davey Havok's vocabulary was so immense and impressive to me - I think I was only about ten? - and I made it my goal to develop a form of expression just like he has. Eventually I came to use it more seriously as a form of therapy but that man was the root of my literary career :)

I'd always been a kid with high imaginations since I was little. I used to watch some shows on TV and imagined what I would make those characters do differently and stuff. And when I was about 10, I learned a bit about writing and I started writing down my ideas in a little book. First, I just wrote down my thoughts, I didn't really know how to develop them into plots so everything was choppy and all over the place.

And over time, I learned to create stories and I'd been writing ever since.

Hi! I'm Lina, by the way. Nice to meet you. Cute
