The audition part, 1D part, and Justin Bieber part says why I feel like that.

This doesn't say anything about the "why." All I read was that pop stars don't have to try as hard. I don't think "making it" it matters; staying is what matters. I couldn't care less where your band came from or if you had to "hustle." I care if you can actually play, actually sing, and actually write music that matters. And some pop stars do in fact write that music.

I think pop stars do have it easy...but I do enjoy some Katy Perry and The pretty reckless. Both have played warped tour before they were big stars and I saw both there. No, they haven't struggled like all the other bands that have played but I still enjoy them. :)

    I agree, wholeheartedly.

That's what I hate most about reality shows like the X Factor, they are given a record deal, it's all handed to them on a plate. More often than not, they fail within the year but bands like One Direction and a few others will have the following cause they are pretty to look at, in my opinion. The way Justin Bieber has been behaving pisses me off, but I'm not surprised. He was given the world on a silver platter way too young, now it's all gone to his head. Same with Britney, Miley, much too young and they went a little crazy. I digress.

I suppose with rock/metal bands, it's a little harder to "make it" because the scene is much harder to break into. Bullet For My Valentine took years and years to even get their first gig, never mind a record deal. Avenged, Metallica, those bands had to go through the underground scene because that was probably the only way for them to get their sound out there. There were no millionaire music moguls waiting to offer them deals. I love watching Biggie and 50 Cent's movies about their lives, they had to go through so much shit to get where they were/are. Same with Eminem. Pop stars these days have it so easy. But of course, that's just my opinion. XD

But my point was that everyone is equally talented in their own ways, hard work or not. And yeah, some bands have to work harder than others, but it's not like pop stars don't work hard either. A 20-track album doesn't just come out of nowhere without any work. Granted, the music is made for them, but they still have to use their voices just like a guitarist plays his guitar, etc..

Exactly. That's why others have to work hard.

That's because pop has taken over. You rarely see anything else on the top charts aside from pop, a little bit of rap and maybe one or two alternative songs every now and then. Otherwise, it's all pop or whatever is viral that week.

But is it just a coincidence that all those people they find are just popstars? You don't hear those stories with other genres.

Just because some pop stars don't have to work hard, doesn't mean they're any less than the people who do work hard. Talent is talent no matter where you started. Some people just have it easier than others, and that's the way the world works. And besides, the majority of the people you listed who worked hard started back before the 2000's. There weren't talent shows and millions of scouts out there looking for new talent when they all started. That was before pop took over, and now that it has, people are dying to find new talent just to make a buck, which results in these talent shows, and people getting picked up from youtube and off the streets and wherever else. And with all this new technology, it's so easy to find someone talented and just grab them and throw them into a pool of cash, unfortunately.

I know. Like Machine Gun Kelly. But the only 'real' song I know is Save me.

Katy Perry was a Christian singer who then transferred into pop and was dropped from labels prior to I Kissed A Girl...

Edit: Also, a lot of current rappers work hard as well. Plenty of rappers go beyond drugs and hoes (i.e Common)

I respect your opinion. Yes they do want do it but the label will always put their input on what's right.

I just feel that maybe she should have rounded some friends. Or done what bands did back then: Put out ads for members. I just don't like the fact that she got signed and was given all this.

I missed your reason for why you feel pop stars are made.

I think they're "made" to yes, make money for their label but I think the artists do it because they genuinely want to do it. You're referring to Taylor Mosmen. I don't think there's anything wrong with "being given" her band. She does need a backup band after all.
