Yes, I do have mental blueprints and I do want people to be excited with me too! Oh the agony.
I'm the same way. I have to sit down and plan everything up to that so I won't rush it, and then when I finally get to that scene, I spend a lot of time on it to make it perfect. :)
My goodness, someone who finally gets my issue down to a T! I have this problem. It makes it almost impossible for me to slow down long enough to concentrate on the chapters that build up to the big scene. People have suggested I just write the scene out and not post it but that's tough too because I want people to be excited about it with me.
I feel this so hard. Especially the part about already having the mental blueprints of a scene you know you would relish as a reader, but also knowing as a writer it's in the middle of a work you havent even started. That has literally derailed me so hard as a writer it's ridiculous. Anyway, good luck with your writing/studying!
