Haha, yeah, I was ready to just scrap the entire idea before I finally got it to work.

This is the first one I've done in quite some time, same with writing, actually. Just trying to get back into the swing of things Smile

Ah yeah I understand that, sometimes it would take me a while to get a photo cut out using GIMP, or I'd have to find a similar photo that was easier to cut out lol.

Photoshop is good, I just don't make graphics as much as I used to, sadly :/

I tried that tool but I couldn't get it clean enough. I think the image I was trying to cut out was a little too complicated, but I used Vechs tool suggestion and it worked well.

I wish I could afford photoshop, I'm sure it's much easier to use. Haha.

I used to use GIMP but now I use Photoshop so I'm trying to remember it all, but I believe GIMP has a scissors tool you can use, and you just click points around the image you want, and go around the entire thing. Then it's considered "cut out" and I believe you can move it around, or hit Delete and it'll delete the uncut part of the photo, something to that effect Think

That actually worked really well for what I was trying to do, because the image was black/grey and the background was white, so it edited it perfectly Smile

Of course! Only issue with color to alpha is that it takes *all* the white, meaning it darkens all other colour in the background as well.

Thanks heaps! It worked exactly how I wanted it to. I watched some many videos and read some many "tips" and this is the first time I've even heard of this tool. Thanks again Very Happy

In GIMP, select the background layer and right-click on the image. Click "color to alpha" and hit enter. That's the best you can do.
