Did I Miss Something? - Comments

I sure hope not. I do love me some poetry.
God, it's revolting. At least the semi-stale fries still tasted good in mayonnaise. Yak

I don't think they'd come out with anything like that. As far as I'm aware, the poem rules are slightly more lax than the story rules for that reason - I know I sometimes use non-caps in poems and stuff too - so I doubt they'd get seriously irked about that. Besides. We don't really have any dedicated poem editors, everyone is volunteering to help out at the moment to keep the section tidy. We don't really have the time to be going around and reporting stuff like that tehe

Catastrophe. XD I once had warm lettuce on a microwaveable burger, it was the worst thing I have ever tasted in my entire life. And ants on sandwiches? Just awful, that would be gutting.

I just mean - if you were to rifle through my poems, you'd understand - if they suddenly said "First lines always need to be capitalized" and "No use of symbols in poem content". I have a good few poems that utilize hidden characters as a second meaning and almost none of them have capitalization.

It really is. We're talking about food gone wrong: her sandwich with ants and my microwaved burger with warm lettuce. Yak

  • Personally I get the relevance with poems because it's a writing part of the site - just my opinion and maybe it's due to me making the changes to poems that I think in that way - and they are enforced to a certain extent in terms of titles and stuff. But I definitely agree with the blogs, I just don't get it.

Heated lettuce is just the stupidest thing ever. I might head over and join in once I get back from uni. XD

I think it's dumb. Same with poems: there are published poems that are named in lowercase or all caps. Almost all my poems are meant to be in lowercase. If they ever start messing with poem content, I'm leaving. That's just creativity infringement.

I was just reading that sandwich blog. The author and I are conversing about how gross heated lettuce is in the comments. XD

  • I don't agree with the new title rules for blogs either but eh. Rules are rules.

Honestly, I think everyone has just gotten angry over a tiny little thing and now everyone's yelling and complaining and siding and it's all so pointless. No one should side with anyone and no one should be arguing because Mibba is a happy land with unicorns and stories about pie and blogs about sandwiches. Cry

I was about to retort that I'm not actually Pacific Islander until I remembered I changed my loc back from Neutral Zone. XD I think Russia's awesome as well; it seems so fascinating and culture-rich and amazing. I eat anything. I may never eat it again, but I have no boundaries about food.

I don't even like burgers to begin with. But I was lazy, and alas, there was a burger.

  • I'm not actually Polish, no. I'm just a dork that likes to pretend I am because Poland, am I right? Not a lot of people get why I love Poland but the history. It's also why I love Russia, despite all of its political issues (which should be a really big problem for me but it's not because history). Anyway, yes, Morning Star. Those aren't vegan, but I've heard good things about them. I've never actually had tofu because I am a very sheltered individual when it comes to food.

Oh, yeah, reheated condiments and lettuce sound disturbing.

I had the Morning Star ones (if you're actually Polish they might not have those there) and they were decent, albeit a bit weird in texture. I also like tofu which is apparently a very unpopular opinion puffin, and I don't eat much in the way of meat to begin with.

It was revolting. Would have been a great burger had I remembered to remove the lettuce and condiments before sticking it in the microwave.

  • It really depends on the kind of veggie burger. I think that most store-bought veggie burgers aren't. I wouldn't trust it. I eat mostly fresh produce and grains because I'm trying to get healthier (aka lose mega pounds). Bugs are pretty cool. I'm cool with bugs. Food and bugs are the worst combination, though. Vegan foods are the freaking damn best. Yeah, being vegetarian isn't so hard, but being vegan is so difficult. It's only been a week and I've almost eaten dairy products twice. I went vegan for health issues (meat is making me sick and I'm lactose intolerant), so I don't need to really encourage myself there, but I keep forgetting that milk and eggs are baked into a lot of things. Facepalm

That sounds nasty. Heated lettuce. Wow.

Oh God that's gross. OMG NO! Bugs in food is like the grossest thing ever. I love bugs, but bugs + food = nothx.
Vegan foods are shockingly good. I came to love veggie burgers (not sure if vegan?) while I was vegetarian and I still do. I was surprised how easy not eating meat was.

Ew. I just heated up half a burger and excuse me, hot lettuce, no no no. Yak

  • I'm seriously just... Cathy's going to have to keep me informed because I'm leaving. I'm getting conflicting reports from the people in charge and that makes me so uncomfortable. I have complained about how FanFiction.Net staff came out of nowhere after a decade to enforce their rules, but at least they were completely honest about it. I feel like this situation is either lacking communication or honesty because I know what I was told in comparison to what's happening right now.

  • I didn't think it was a big deal, but everyone else thought it was?

You know what I thought was a big deal, though. I found a dead ant ON my bok choy. Right on it, man. It was so dead. So dead. I wound up wiping it off and making a sandwich with it does that make me gross?? I hope it does. Segway into another related subject, I made my first vegan sandwich. I've been vegan for a little while but I've never made a sandwich until now and wow I put too much salt in the sauce because gross. I didn't finish it. It's sitting on the table next to me. Glaring.

It is frustrating. Mibba was a very different place when I joined - more welcoming, and noob-friendly. Not anymore. I applied to be a Magazine editor because I feel the Mag is the only area unaffected by recent changes.

    @ ptvjaime
I saw that Cathy quit, I noticed the lack of title under her username. But I also see that Mibbians aren't robots, we can't be perfect all the time. However, it's our job to do our best work. I... don't know how to say it without offending someone, so forgive me, but I feel that if we're going to be posting our writing on the Internet then we should be mature enough to at least have someone beta it to be sure it's formatted properly and there are no errors.

God, I hope this works itself out eventually.

  • A lot of people are unhappy with how they have chosen to enforce grammar in stories. A lot of people are upset about the blog rules; one of their mods even quit because she wasn't comfortable changing titles and deleting blogs for grammar reasons. I just learned that Dujo once said he didn't want the grammar enforced and I know for a fact an admin once told me they weren't going to delete stories to enforce grammar. I am confused, upset, and angry as a result of all of these things not making sense.

  • You've missed a lot. I don't place blame on either party but some people are experiencing what they feel is wrong doing even though it hasn't happened to you. I don't mean that in a rude way. Cute I got a message saying my blog wasn't capitalized correctly but not two weeks earlier I was told my story titles needed to be un capitalized. I was like....."Well, which is it now?" Facepalm Just gets frustrating being ran around the bush so to speak but I never got angry or rude about it either.
