I don't see why anyone would make fun of your for this phobia. I can relate to it. I can't say that I have a phobia but if I came home and found maggots ANYWHERE in my house, I would completely lose my shit. Which, maybe is kind of weird because most bugs don't bother me. But any kind of larvae (not counting caterpillars) just freak me out. So it's a perfectly understandable phobia to have and I'm sorry that you have to go through that. :/

That's awful that they make fun and do that to you. Sad People can be so inconsiderate. Thanks for your kind words. Mr. Green Luckily I haven't seen any in awhile.

Needles don't bother me but the pain that could come with them does or if people get pierced in hurty looking spots. I went with a guy friend long ago when he got his labret pierced. Facepalm Never again......

I have a really severe phobia of needles. Absolutely can not handle them. Outside of my Planned Parenthood visits so I can stay on my birth control, I haven't been to a doctor in almost ten years, no matter how sick I am, because I'm always terrified they'll have to draw blood. Last time I DID go to the doctor I was fifteen and I had a full-blown panic attack because I had to get a tetanus shot.

Phobias are definitely serious things. I used to have friends who thought it was funny to trigger my phobia. I still know people who think it's funny that I have that phobia because they love needles so much. Friends of mine who are piercing/tattoo addicts will sit there and talk in detail about their experiences and there have been times I had to yell at them to get them to stop talking about it around me. =/ People can be really insensitive.

I'm sorry you have to deal with it. And I'm sorry that there are people out there who deliberately trigger phobias for their own entertainment.

Yeah. They only use maggots in extreme cases I think and very rarely but yes.....leeches. Just no. So I have a question. There are only two blog mods right? How do you all work out who reads what blogs? Like is there a schedule to it? I'm just curious. Smile Do you have to read every blog posted during a time frame or....?

I am also on a phone right now so I feel that, haha

I've never heard of maggots used in medicine. Leeches are bad enough!

Yeah. Shew. I woulda freaked too. It took me a bit to fix all the typos in my blog. Facepalm Typing on a phone sucks lol.

I know that sometimes doctors use maggots for medical purposes but I'd just be like, "Either drug me during or just let me die of infection." I couldn't handle knowing they were on me, even if it was to help.

I saw an episode of CSI Miami once where this woman had head trauma and was lying on her kitchen floor for a few days. She had maggots in the wound doing their "cleaning" and apparently they were what kept her alive. I just.....couldn't even imagine. Twitch

This would be a horrible phobia to have. I don't have a phobia of worms or maggots but they DO intensely freak me out. My pet parrot receives a chilli every day as a natural wormer because the chemical wormers can be harmful over long periods.
OMG I have pet chickens and I was cleaning their poop tray out on a warm day after some rain which was apparently the perfect conditions for maggots to infest their poop Sad I've not been that freaked out in a while. Lucky they eat most other creepy crawlies.
