Well I'll be a sap with you then. Because that book is a contemporary classic.
I haven't read or watched the movie but it seemed interesting. And I just like saying "Terabithia." It sounds so cool.
Yes. Couldn't have said it better myself. Then it reinforces the stigma against reaching out for help.
Genre understatement of the century---YA romance; could mean YA romance that also romanticizes self-harm and that "being rescued" via love interest is plausible and necessary. Because who would actually read a YA novel that has the base plot / genre of "mental health" or the like, huh? No wham bam thank you ma'am in this corner.
Yay, we can have a sappy-sap-corner of sappiness.
If you liked Because of Winn-Dixie I think you'd like it. It's a pretty sweet little story that will stab you in the heart when you least expect it so beware. But the movie is really good, they did an amazing job on the movie - which I don't get to say a lot x'D.
I just hate to see that sort of thing to be romanticized. v.v It's pretty sad. I would love to read stories on just mental-health, without romance or anything because idk I guess I'm just weird but I think it's interesting to see how someone thinks and how they feel. No fluff needed whatsoever.
