I buy spaghetti, barilla and cook them the italian way. I either cook a tomato sauce to go along with it or add greek oil and cheese.

A long, long time ago my grandmother used to make the noodles from scratch, it's a wonderful card in her recipe purse, but anymore she just uses store bought noodles. The sauce though, good Lord, she starts with a bland Hunts sauce from a can and then performs some sort of ritual to make it into this crazy awesome vat of my childhood. Hah. No. It's a combination of garlic, tomato, celery, onion, pork ribs, beef tips, salt, pepper, parmesan, basil, and homemade meat balls that practically stew together for at least 6 hours. It's spoiled me silly and I'm not afraid to admit it. lmfao In Love

I like to make my spaghetti from scratch! I make my own vegetable noodles, and then I make sauce by cutting and mashing up tomatoes!

Hahahaha. Everyone always asks me if it's sweet and I'm like "Have you ever... been near a squash of any kind?"

Yeah. Like pumpkin by itself is mild I think. Haha it doesn't really get the pumpkin pie taste unless you add cinnamon, nutmeg or whatever spices they put in it lol. I guess a lot of people just associate pumpkin as automatically tasting like pumpkin pie type of stuff. They probably only eat pumpkin if it's in a pie or in processed foods with the pumpkin pie spice flavorings.

My uncle uses store bought stuff but since my grandpa grows some vegetables, he'll add those to the sauce. My uncle can make some stuffed pasta shells from scratch though. X3

Yeah, it's really yummy! It doesn't taste like pumpkin at all. Or at least I should specify that it doesn't taste like pumpkin pie. Hahaha. That seems to be what everyone is worried about when I tell them I make pumpkin sauce. But yeah, and the great thing about making homemade raviolis (aside from being able to choose your own ingredients) is that you can make them and freeze them in advance too. And it's much healthier. And yeah, the pesto is really good on French bread too (I also make my own bread). So I def recommend that. I've only had bruschetta once, but it was yummy. In a basily spicy sort of way.

Interesting! I've always wanted to have a garden. We grow pumpkins every year but it's been literally like 15 years since I've been around a real garden. My grandma use to grow her own stuff back in the day.

Time is a big factor. In this day and age with having to work, juggle kids or a family, making stuff homemade has become like a weekend project if there's even time then lol.

Wow, pumpkin sounds really interesting! I've always wanted to try the homemade ravioli thing. Seems like it would be fun, plus, I'd like to stuff mine with stuff I want to instead of having to choose whatever they have frozen at the store lol. Hmmm. I need to try to make a pesto too. It seems like it would be good on french bread or something. This one time I did make bruschetta. It was interesting haha.

Oh man. Oh man. I've never made homemade spaghetti noodles, but I DO make homemade ravioli noodles. And I love them. And I usually make them with a mixture of ricotta cheese, shredded Parmesan, minced garlic, and salt and pepper in the center. And I have made homemade tomato sauce, but I usually don't make tomato sauce. I usually make pumpkin sauce (from scratch), or homemade pesto. :D

And I'm not Italian. I just really like cooking. And believe it or not, homemade noodles are actually really simple. Like if you stick with raviolis or maybe even linguine noodles, because they're thick. You don't really need to have a pasta roller, but I can see those being useful. And the sauces are all pretty easy too. The tomato sauce I make takes an ungodly amount of time and I'm really impatient. Which is why I stick the pumpkin. The pumpkin doesn't take very long at all and it's really mild. The pesto is pretty spicy though, but it's also really good on crispy fried tofu. :D

I make it with everything store-bought, except in the fall sometimes my parents make spaghetti sauce from scratch from vegetables they grow in their own garden so a few times each year i get to make spaghetti with that sauce. Still store-bought noodles, though.

I've always wanted to start cooking completely from scratch, but with my schedule the way it is it's just impossible. I really rarely even have time to cook meals that come out of a box.
