That's actually pretty fantastic. I wish my business profs had done something like that. Very Happy

I agree. People like to use whatever they can to feel elite. It's really silly, to me. But own family does it almost every day.

AASDSFDH;YJR895EIY THANK YOU I FANGIRL EVERYTIME I SEE IT, TBH.

Mr. Green That's exactly my philosophy!

Oh and also great blog. Very Happy I personally love a lot of obscure things and dislike a lot of popular music, movies, TV shows, etc. Live and let live, I say.

We actually did a quick study of something like this in uni (I study music business so apparently we need to know how the popular music market works...I care roughly zero percent about the popular music market lmfao) and it's apparently to do with feeling like you're part of a cultural elite because of shunning popular music as a whole. There are always going to be people that want to shove others down based on music taste, TV show taste or the suchlike, just because they want to feel like they belong to a higher power, as such. It gives them standing over someone else because they listen to this super-hipster indie band over All About That Bass, which is in my opinion, a really silly way to go about it.

Me, I don't even care. I listen to what I like and if others don't like it then shove it. I absolutely get where you're coming from though, people shouldn't be judged just because they like this song, or that TV show character. Everyone has different tastes. My dad always used to say that if we all liked the same music, the world would be full of Westlife tribute acts. Whistle

Fact is, it's not about being "right". People seem to think that if you shout loudly enough and plaster your opinion on things, then you're automatically correct. The only thing that'll change anything is if people actually try and do what is going to benefit someone else, rather than doing things for attention or publicity.

I hear that! It's especially hard for people on the internet. I think that people just put too much emotion into being right and that's part of the problem. They're so fcused on being right that EVERYONE has to agree with them, or else.

Which is really unfortunate. I've lost lots of great friends that way.

Yeah, that's basically what I say. People should get off other people's asses about things that don't concern them, but apparently, this is a difficult concept for a lot of people to grasp.

I personally don't like the song for many reasons. From day 1 I've disliked it.

What I don't care for are the types of people that put down others for liking things, and don't care to try to explain why it might actually be not that great, or those types that just come out and tell people "they suck" or "should die" for liking something that they do not, be it that song, a movie, or anything, especially pop culture-wise.

There is never a reason to be that way when it come to personal taste. As long as that person isn't forcing you to like the song/movie/etc and isn't harming others or themselves by enjoying it, there's no reason to get ones panties bunched because of it.

By all means, speak out about it if you wish (And I, for one, have), but to seek and destroy like that, c'mon now. That's never right with something so trivial. Mr. Green

I think the reason a lot of people dislike the song is because the girl who wrote it (forgot her name) is apparently a bit of a misogynist herself, I can't recall where that was said but it's more based on the fact that its creator is problematic than that the song is. I may be wrong, that's just what I've heard!
