I loved in the Bronx, like almost my whole life. So I never paid attention to the other borough's, but now I'm like damn. This is crazy, I always thought the Bronx was bad. Smh. Rip to them.

Same! I have an older brother and it terrifies me cause he's out there and it only takes being at the wrong place at the wrong time for something to happen.

I believe the guy killed himself as well. If I'm remembering the blurbs I read, he shot himself after running away.

I'm originally from Brooklyn too. ( Grew up in Crown Heights and then we moved to Fort Greene in the early 90s.) Now my family lives a few blocks from Barclays where a lot of protests take place. It's scary out here right now - both when the protests are happening and just in everyday. Because you don't know how people are going to react as more news develops and more protests take place. The police can lash out, the protesters can lash out, and people just witnessing can get violently involved.

One of the things that scares me the most is having my little brother out there. He's only ten, but whenever I see something going on with the police, I can't help but think that he (and other little boys like him) will be the ones to pay for it.

Thank you for wording it better than I would! I definitely don't want anyone blaming this on the Black Lives Matter!
